AN INTERVIEW WITH GOD

An interview with God:

I dreamed I had an interview with God!!

“Come in” God said. “So you would like to interview me”.
“If you had the time?” I said.
God smiled and said, “My time is eternity and is not enough to do everything. What question do you have in mind to ask me?”
“What surprises you most about mankind”? I asked.

God made a few points:

(1) That they get bored of being children, are in rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.
(2) That they lose their health to make money and lose their money to restore their health.
(3) That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor for the future.
(4) That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived.
(5) That when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me?". Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
(6) That when they plan to get even with someone, they are only letting that person continue to hurt them.

God’s hands took mine and we were silent for a while.

I then asked God, “As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons that I need my children to learn?”

God replies with a smile,

(1) To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved.
(2) To learn that what is most valuable is not WHAT they have in their lives, but WHO they have in their lives.
(3) To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. All will be judged individually by their own merits, not as a group on a comparison basis.
(4) To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.
(5) To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love and that it takes many years to heal them.
(6) To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.
(7) To learn that there are persons who love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.
(8) To learn that money can buy everything but happiness and class.
(9) To learn that two people can look at same things and see it totally different.
(10) To learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything about them, and likes them anyway.
(11) To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they have to forgive themselves.
(12) To learn that to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
(13) To learn that life is tough, but they are tougher.

LAWLESSNESS IN U.P., the extent of it

RIOTING IN MEERUT JAIL

Rioting in Meerut Jail by prisoners allegedly at behest of local jail-officials to beat police-officials from Agra deputed for surprise check of Meerut Jail, exposes UP to be amongst Indian states with maximum crime rate. This is in sharp contradiction of costly poll-campaign of ruling Samajwadi Party where super-star Amitabh Bachchan boasts UP to be a state with least crime-rate. UP government should give clear title of the central-report mentioned in these poll-advertisements which allegedly reveal UP to be amongst states with least crime-record.

It is surprising that neither the Chief Minister nor any other senior person from UP administration has uttered even a single word on the shocking incident where Meerut police-officers are said to have used criminals locked in the jail to beat the inspecting police-team from Agra. Recovery of banned items like mobile-phones and CD from jail-barracks, expose worst position of law and order in the state.

GANESH IDOL

Ganesha idol foils robbery at Australian shop
IANS |
Melbourne: The owner of a takeaway Indian curry joint in Melbourne thwarted an attempted armed robbery by throwing a statue of Lord Ganesha at his attacker Monday.

A man, dressed in motorbike leathers and helmet, entered the Curry Grove in Sommerville Road, Hampton Park, at 7.30 pm and allegedly threatened the owner with a knife.

"The robber then made a demand for cash but the owner, in his mid-40s and the only person in the shop at the time, threw the statue at him," said Gavin Buchan, a Cranbourne police official.

Police believe the assailant fled empty-handed on a motorbike parked outside, according to The Age newspaper.

BEEF DIET

Beef diet 'damages sons' sperm'
Scientists have produced evidence to suggest that Europe was right to ban the beef industry from using growth promoters to increase yield.

A US study has linked use of the chemicals to damage to human sperm.

The University of Rochester found men whose mothers ate a lot of beef during pregnancy had lower sperm counts.

The Human Reproduction study found they were three times more likely to have a sperm count so low they could be classified as sub-fertile.

It confirms that Europe was justified to ban the use of these hormones when they did
Dr Allan Pacey
University of Sheffield

The use of growth promoting chemicals was banned in Europe in 1988.

But although the US banned the use of some growth promoters in 1979, others, such as the sex hormones testosterone and progesterone, are still in use in the beef industry.

The Rochester team examined sperm counts among US men born between 1949 and 1983.

They found those whose mothers ate more than seven beef meals a week had an average sperm concentration of 43.1 million sperm per millimetre of seminal fluid.

In contrast, the sons of mothers who ate less beef had an average of 56.9 million sperm.

Fertility threshold

GROWTH PROMOTERS
Six growth promoters are legally in use in the US:
Natural steroids:
estradiol
testosterone
progesterone
Synthetic hormones:
zeranol
trenbolene acetate
melengestrol acetate

Among sons of mothers who ate a lot of beef, 17.7% had a sperm concentration below the World Health Organization sub-fertility threshold of 20 million sperm per millimetre of seminal fluid. The figure for the sons of lower beef consumers was 5.7%.

Lead researcher Professor Shanna Swan said the findings suggested that exposure to growth promoters contained in the beef eaten by the boys' mothers was to blame.

However, she admitted the research team had no specific data on which chemicals the meat contained, and conceded other possible causes, such as exposure to pesticides, or lifestyle factors could not be ruled out.

She said: "Theoretically, the foetus and young children are particularly sensitive to exposure to sex steroids.

"Therefore, the consumption of residues of steroids in meat by pregnant women and young children is of particular concern."

Professor Swan said to pin down the role of growth promoters the study would have to be repeated in men born in Europe after 1988.

Damaging effects

EU POSITION
Hormonal growth promoters banned in EU in 1988
UK government runs a system of surveillance for residues of such substances in UK cattle to monitor compliance with the ban
EU law bans meat from hormonally treated animals being exported to the EU by non-member countries

Dr Allan Pacey, senior lecturer in andrology at the University of Sheffield, said: "Even though males don't start producing sperm until puberty, it is during the time in their mother's womb, and in the early years of their life as an infant, that the testicles develop their capacity to produce sperm.

"Scientists have been concerned for a number of years that oestrogen mimicking chemicals in water supplies, plastics or make-up can affect the critical stages in the development of young boys' testicles.

"In extreme cases of exposure, this could lead to sperm counts in adult men that are low enough to be the cause of infertility

"That hormones given to cattle might have lowered the sperm counts of adult men because their mothers ate a lot of beef when they were pregnant with them is alarming to say the least.

"But it confirms that Europe was justified to ban the use of these hormones when they did."

Professor Alastair Hay, an expert on environmental toxicology at the University of Leeds, said one weakness of the study was that it relied on women being able accurately to recall how much beef they had eaten during pregnancy - something which may have happened many years earlier.

SINDHIS

PROUD TO BE A SINDHI
WE UNIQUE FIVE MILLION SINDHIS.

They were the people
Who were denied their ancient land
5000 years old Civilization. Mohan- Jo- Daro
They paid supreme price for FREEDOM OF INDIA.

They were the people
Who dwelled on the banks of river Sindhu
Where Rig Veda was evolved
Then Upanishads took shape,
Who believed in peace and tranquility
And in universal brotherhood.

But in the year 1947,
Were forced to migrate.
They came empty handed
Many with only clothes on their back
Assigned in dilapidated barracks

Leaking roofs and missing privacy
And had to stand in line for free rations.
But, instead of whining or moaning
They stood proud and erect
They took, not arms, but creative intelligence, inner strength
They believed in knowledge and education

And moved forward.
Next 50 years
They traversed many lands and oceans
By hard work and perseverance
They spread prosperity everywhere

They built new houses
They built new hospitals
They built new schools and colleges
Gave free aid and scholarships
And advanced trade and industry.

The Original Unique five Million Sindhis
The peaceful people, the hospitable people
The generous people
The proud and independent people
The self-reliant people

Without a millimeter of their land, they survived
They are survivors, they are tough,
They are HINDU SINDHIS.

PLEASE DO SEND TO ALL THE SINDHIS
AROUND THE WORLD AND REMEMBER, UNTIED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL SINDHIS HAVE BUILT MORE COLLEGES AND HOSPITALS IN INDIA AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PEACE LOVING COMMUNITY.!

PUNISH CRICKETERS

Shocking disclosure by BCCI Vice President about Indian cricketers enjoying night-life rather than having necessary physical rest during their stay for World Cup final, calls for severe punishment of guilty cricketers violating code set for them for a victorious play for the country. Such an act should be taken as crime against nation and its public. When they can accept showers of rewards from public-resources like plots of land, cash and other costly benefits, they also deserve severe punishment for playing with sentiments and emotions of crores of countrymen.

Know the Self as lord of the chariot,
The body as the chariot itself,
The discriminating intellect as charioteer,
And the mind as reins.
The senses, say the wise, are the horses;
Selfish desires are the roads they travel.
When the Self is confused with the body,
Mind, and senses, they point out, he seems

MAGAZINE FOR YOUNG AMERICAN MOSLEMS

The new magazine for young american muslims should be studied
for ideas on approaching young hindus in the diaspora...

market segment that is being ignored at great risk.

New Magazines Reflect Muslims' Diversity
As Community Grows, Publications Aim to Offer Alternative Voice - By Omar Sacirbey
March 24, 2007

Holding an American flag and wearing a grin beneath her head scarf, Wardaw Chaudhary, a 16-year-old from Tulsa, radiated confidence and optimism, the perfect cover girl to grace the first issue of Muslim Girl magazine.

Launched in January with the tag line "Enlighten Celebrate Inspire," the bimonthly magazine targets what Editor in Chief Ausma Khan says are 400,000 Muslim teenage girls in North America, who, like other teenagers, want a magazine that reflects their lifestyles and aspirations.

"We want to tell the stories of Muslim girls who have grown up in America," said Khan, 37. "We want to give them a voice and a forum where they can see themselves and connect to other Muslim girls, but also demonstrate how much they're part of the fabric of American life."

Muslim Girl, with a circulation approaching 50,000, is the latest of several new magazines catering to Muslim Americans. Although they reach for distinct demographics -- teenagers, professionals, mothers, secular Muslims -- they share a common motivation: to define themselves at a time when many think Muslims have surrendered that responsibility to Western media that often get them wrong.

The magazines follow a few longer-established publications, such as Islamic Horizons, published by the Islamic Society of North America, and are more than an expression of Muslim American assertiveness. They reflect the community's diversity and a growing Muslim market that is catching the eye of advertisers and distributors.

Today's Muslim Girl readers might be tomorrow's subscribers to Azizah, which premiered in late 2000 calling itself the voice for Muslim women. Azizah, which means "dear" or "strong" in Arabic, blends profiles -- about, for instance, America's first Muslim female judge and a university "campus queen" -- with articles on health, travel, food and spirituality. But the quarterly glossy, with U.S. circulation of about 40,000, also handles tougher subjects, from custody battles and AIDS in the Muslim community to inheritance laws and how to spot men who marry for green cards.

Both Muslim Girl and Azizah were launched in part to correct stereotypes of Muslim women as oppressed and uneducated, fueled largely by news from overseas.

"Islam and Muslims are reported on in this country through the lens of Middle Eastern politics. So we see the Muslim woman as the Arab woman," said Tayyibah Taylor, 54, Azizah's publisher and editor.

A reader put it this way: "The emergence of these Muslim publications presents us with the opportunity to declare who we are and what we believe unapologetically, to force others to acknowledge our increasing presence in the West, and allows us to dispel the erroneous Muslim stereotypes too often presented and accepted in Western media," Gena Chung, a 32-year-old Muslim convert and mother of three in Laurel, wrote in an e-mail.

One of the new magazines, Islamica, serves up pieces on current affairs along with articles on art, culture, science and business, as well as fiction and poetry. It, too, was born of a desire to challenge conventional views about Islam. After briefly appearing as an academic journal in the early 1990s, Islamica was revived in 2003 as a quarterly. It has a circulation of 14,000, including more than 6,000 subscribers in North America.

"By extending the scope of what people understand about the religion, it may be easier for them to contextualize events and understand where Islam is coming from and how it's evolving, as opposed to through political events that tend to distort the religion," said senior editor Firas Ahmad, who likened his magazine to the Atlantic Monthly.

"What we're trying to do is provide alternatives to what we think the mainstream media might be missing," he said.

The magazines have something in common with many others in print: financial pressures.

"Like any magazine, we've been on the brink of collapse several times in the last few years," Ahmad said. But Islamica's chances of surviving, he added, improved with the recent arrival of a publisher and a switch to a nonprofit model.

Muslim Girl hopes to make money from advertising. The Fox network and Oxford University Press have bought ads, and Khan believes more big advertisers are on the way.

"One of the great untold stories here is that the American Muslim market is where the Hispanic market was five years ago, on the verge of a major breakout, and there's enormous potential to market to this audience," said Khan, who left a teaching position at Northwestern University to run Muslim Girl.

A 2004 Zogby International poll found that one in three Muslim Americans earns more than $75,000 per year.

Barnes and Noble, which carries Islamica, has announced that it will carry Muslim Girl in all but about 20 of its nearly 700 stores.

Azizah has relied mainly on Muslim-owned businesses for advertising, especially from the fashion sector. "We felt that it was very important for Muslim businesses and Muslim designers to be showcased. If not here, then where?" said Taylor, the publisher, who, with a partner, launched the magazine without bank loans.

Although many Muslims have welcomed the magazines, there has been criticism. Some Muslims have complained that Azizah features only women who wear the hijab, or head scarf, as cover girls.

Taylor's response: "We wanted the magazine to be instantly recognizable, kind of iconic as a Muslim women's magazine. And even though many Muslim women do not wear hijabs in public, when they stand to pray, they all do.

"If I have an African American woman or a Pakistani woman on there without [a] hijab, it might be any Pakistani magazine or any African American magazine. But with a woman who's covered, people know instantly."

BUDDHIST WISDOM

INCOME TAX FREE, MAYBE, BUT LOTS OF OTHER TAXES!

Tax havens of the world
Wednesday, 21 March , 2007, 15:05

Death may be certain, but taxes don't have to be.

It's an international marketplace after all, and there are plenty of nations willing to welcome expatriates fed up with Uncle Sam.

Countries like the Bahamas make tax haven status an integral part of their marketing -- relocate to Nassau, and you'll fear no taxman. That's because, for Bahamians and resident aliens there are no taxes on personal income, capital gains, inheritance or gifts.

In Pictures: Tax Havens of the World

"The policy benefits the Bahamas indirectly," says Terrance Bain of FT Consultants, an accounting and tax planning firm in the Bahamas. "A person coming to the Bahamas will buy real estate or operate some kind of business. Most luxury properties are marketed to and eventually bought by non-Bahamians -- it's a very robust market."

Good weather and no audits, it's almost unfair.

The History

Tax havens grew out of the late 19th-century British system that began granting independent economic governance to protectorates like Gibraltar, Hong Kong or the Channel Islands, which then became easy places for people to protect money -- hence the term off-shore accounts.

By the 20th century, high net-worth individuals were flocking to small islands like Monaco and Bermuda, whose governments figured the money they could garnish off real estate transactions and sales tax made the tax-free incentives worthwhile.

"Monaco is a luxury destination," says Maguy Maccario-Doyle, consul general to the United States. "It is a soft tax system, but we do have a value added tax around 30% on luxury items such as jewelry or restaurants and all the best luxury people are here within a square mile."

And it works. Six of the Forbes Billionaires reside in Monaco, making one in every 5,400 residents worth over a billion dollars. The principality's housing market commands a median price of $3,000 per square foot, ahead of Manhattan and London, according to international real estate analysts Global Property Guide.

Bermuda, though it has only three billionaires, has the highest gross domestic product per capita in the world at $70,000 per citizen. Hiding out in Bermuda is so popular, in fact, that the government makes it virtually impossible to get permanent residency, and requires that foreigners buying into the market pay a minimum of $1 million for their home and then a 22% transfer fee to the government.

In Pictures: Tax Havens of the World

Those may be luxury prices, but it's a small price to pay for the tax breaks. Non-profit group Tax Justice Network estimates that offshore tax havens shielded over $255 billion in global tax revenue in 2006, a number roughly equal to a third of India's overall GDP.

Mrs Gandhi plotted India's exit from WC!
By Manish Chand |

New Delhi: It was Indira Gandhi who plotted the exit of India from the World Cup. How? By creating Bangladesh!

The national calamity - runner-up India bowing out of the tournament meekly - has brought out the streak of black humour in a billion people sold on World Cup dreams.

After mourning over the shameful loss to greenhorn Bangladesh and then to the smaller neighbour Sri Lanka, Indians are trying to laugh their way out. Impromptu jokes are aplenty.

What is Sehwag's favourite movie? Gone in Sixty Seconds!

Why is Greg Chappell not opening his room? He does not want to become a whodunit thriller like Bob Woolmer!

If nothing, the World Cup defeat has sharpened the wit of diehard cricket fans in India. Some are tired of pampering their icons with lavish affection and want them to try something more mundane.

One FM radio channel is running a contest asking listeners to suggest alternative professions for their beloved deities, now found to have mere feet of clay.

Sachin Tendulkar should be better off serving food in his restaurant in Mumbai than dishing out such heartbreaking performances, quipped one fan.

The grapevine has it that some of the legendary team members have sent in their resumes to monster.com, a job search engine.

This sudden outbreak of black humour is not all that innocent.

One joke bristling with pent up violence: "Someone has kidnapped the Indian cricket team and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 million. Or they will burn them with kerosene. Please contribute generously. I have already contributed 15 litre!"

END CAST SYSTEM

1. Thousands Of Hindus Vow To End Caste Divide

www.andhracafe.com

NEW DELHI, INDIA, March 10, 2007: Leaders of several social groups from within the Hindu community, the Dalits included, were among the 4,000 who gathered at the open air theater in Pragati Maidan here Friday evening and took a pledge to end the caste divide that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar warned would harm India's progress in the long run. A seven-point action plan that Ravi Shankar unveiled at the meeting and which the thousands of men and women accepted with their right hands outstretched included an immediate end to the ban on the entry of Dalits ("Untouchables") into Hindu temples in parts of India. The other aspects of the action plan are ending the practice of keeping separate utensils for the use of Dalits in eateries and also providing religious and spiritual education to Dalit children. "The anger of the past should not engulf us and divide the country. The fear and communication gap between communities is what is keeping us apart," he said in a brief a ddress. "We must accept the reality and reconcile the differences." "What we have started today will resonate across the country and unite the people. When leaders come together and take a vow, the people will follow them," he added. "My main concern is how to bring people together. "

The organizers pointed out that months of painstaking hard work had gone into the 'Truth and Reconciliation Conference,' with Ravi Shankar--whose Art of Living Foundation has millions of followers across the world--reaching out to the leaders and activists of a wide variety of social groups in the Hindu fold. Ravi Shankar pointed out that many were unaware that Dalits had contributed immensely in the development of Hindu scriptures. "Historically, many of the revered rishis were Dalits. The authors of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, Maharishis Valmiki and Vyas respectively, were Dalits. The narrator of the Puranas, Soot Maharishi, was a Dalit.... We need to make the people realize that discrimination is not sanctioned by religion."

Despite legislation making discrimination against Dalits a crime, the offense continues in large parts of India. Many young Dalits have today joined the ranks of Maoists in sheer disgust, convinced that mainstream India does not care for them. Speaker after speaker at the conference praised Ravi Shankar for his initiative and promised to spread the action plan in their areas of influence. But Udit Raj, a civil servant-turned-social activist, cautioned that it would need more than a public pledge to end caste discrimination. "The fact is that the Dalit community to which I belong has no representation in the capital market, in the share market. There is hardly any Dalit among the leading journalists in this country. Can I forget all that?" he said, describing the state of a community that for centuries was considered untouchable by high caste Hindus and consigned to demeaning wo rk.

A CLEAN CHIT FOR ...

http://dailypioneer.com/indexn12.asp?main_variable=front%5Fpage&file_name=story2%2Etxt&counter_img=2
'Clean chit' by CBI to Pandher shocks nation
Kriti Nath Jha
It's finally confirmed that Surender Koli did eat human flesh after killing people, but the CBI ruled out that he was a psychopath. After filing its chargesheet in a Ghaziabad court, the CBI addressed a Press conference where it gave out details of investigations so far in the gruesome killings in Nithari.
Dismissed and arrested sub-inspector Simaranjeet Kaur was also produced before the CBI court on Thursday and sent to judicial custody till March 29. Meanwhile, people in Nithari and across the nation are aghast that the CBI has given a clean chit to Moninder Singh Pandher.
The first chargesheet in the gory Nithari killings that were discovered three months back was filed against the killer duo Pandher and Koli on Thursday in a special CBI court in Ghaziabad. The chargesheet has been filed in the CBI case number RC 1 (S)/07/SCB-I/DLI relating to abduction, rape and murder of Payal on May 7, 2006.
Payal reportedly had illicit relations with Pandher.
"Neelam, who had been running a call girl racket for the past 11 years, first introduced Payal to Pandher. The CBI said it took the help of eight forensic experts, including even from Finland and South Africa and the help of Interpol to crack the Payal murder case," said Arun Kumar, Joint Director, CBI.
But what was more intriguing was the role of Pandher in Payal's murder. The CBI said he had contacted a private detective to trace her. Pandher was reportedly unaware of Payal's murder till the revelation of killings by his servant Koli.
While Pandher has got a clean chit in Payal's murder, his involvement in two more cases is still being probed. However, "Surender Koli in his statement before the judicial magistrate has not taken Pandher's name as being involved in the crime," Kumar said.
The CBI also submitted that Kaur was found guilty mainly on three counts. She was the first investigating officer to book the criminals. But she took gifts and gratification for herself and other persons from the accused, pressurised the victim's family to withdraw the criminal case filed at Sector-20 police station and framed incorrect records with intention to save accused Pandher and his servant Koli from legal proceedings.
"During the course of investigation, skulls, bones and biological materials, clothes and other belongings of victims were recovered from the premises and drains in front of D-5 on December 29 and subsequently. On taking up investigation from the police, the CBI had scanned and searched the premises with the assistance of forensic experts from various parts of the country," added Kumar.
Blood samples of relatives of 18 victims were also obtained and sent to CDFD, Hyderabad for DNA profiling and matching with the DNA of the 18 skulls and around 90 bones. The CDFD after conducting the tests had conclusively found the identity of only eight victims. The tests for the remaining victims are underway.
"Both accused Pandher and Koli were subjected to forensic psychiatric assessment by a five-member board of the AIIIMS for four days. The board opined that Koli is suffering from Necrophilia and Necrophagia, a sexual perversion disorder. He is not a psychopath and was fully conscious at the time of commissioning such horrendous crime and its subsequent consequences. Pandher also doesn't suffer from any sort of psychotic disorder and illness," said Dr RK Chaddha, Head of the Department of Psychiatric Medicine, AIIMS.
The Nithari victims' families termed the filing of chargesheet as an eyewash and said the whole exercise was to help save Pandher. They said they would meet President APJ Abdul Kalam to seek justice.
"This is only justice half done. Pandher is as much responsible for the crime as
Koli. We will meet the President and seek his intervention," said Ramkishan, father of one of the victims, three-year-old Harsh. The families claimed that Pandher himself had confessed to the crime when they had met him in a Noida police station after he was arrested in December last year after the ghastly killings of 16 children and women.
"After his arrest, when we came face to face with him at the police station, Pandher confessed to the crime. Now, why has the CBI not been able to dig out the truth," said Jhabbu Lal, father of six-year-old Jyoti, another victim. "If Pandher was unaware of the killings, why did he keep bribing the police," he asked.

Everyone knew from the beginning that
Pandher will get off the hook. Reason
is Pandher had connections with many
Congress' big shots. If they convict
Pandher, many of UPA's dirty secrets
could be exposed. So Pandher's spared
to keep a lid on Congress' big wigs.

DYNASTIC POLITICS

DYNASTIC POLITICS?

Statement of Rahul Gandhi that Babri-episode would not have taken place if someone from his family would have been in power at that time smells dynastic politics, and may prove dearer for Congress in time to come especially when senior cabinet-members of present Union Government were in PV Narsimharao ministry at time of Babri-demolition. Even Prime Minister Dr Manmohansingh will be embarrassed by Rahul Gandhi’s statement because he was also a senior Cabinet-member at that time.

SELF

The Self cannot be known by anyone
Who desists not from unrighteous ways,
Controls not his senses, stills not his mind,
And practices not meditation.
None else can know the omnipresent Self,
Whose glory sweeps away the rituals
Of the priest and the prowess of the warrior
And puts death itself to death.

A chargesheet : Hindus betraying Hindus
By O.P. Gupta, I.F.S. (retd.)

It is painful to see how a class of ‘secular, progressive and liberal’ Hindu politicians right from the days of the 1916 Congress-Muslim League Lucknow Pact till date in the form of the Sachar Committee report has been systematically collaborating with Muslim and other minority politicians in concocting justifications to reduce, bit by bit, the educational, employment and economic (E3) opportunities for Hindu boys and girls, including leftist Hindu boys and girls.

Religious minority institutions have been empowered by none other than our ‘secular’ Hindu politicians to treat Hindu applicants as second-class citizens of India at the mercy, whims and fancies of “minority managements” even where these institutions receive under Article 30(2) state grants out of taxes largely collected from we Hindus.

As the political parties in their manifestos openly declare that they will give special considerations to Muslims and Christians, they cannot be accused of betraying Hindu youth. Those Hindu parents who give their votes blindly to such political parties are the real ones who by casting their votes to such parties accept in principle that minority students be given special preference over their own children and, thus, unknowingly, end up betraying their own children, grandchildren and the Hindu youth.

It is painful to see how Hindu parents are being media managed to harm and hurt educational, employment, economic and business opportunities of their own children and grandchildren by giving their notes and votes to such political parties which shout from their political rooftops that they will give special preferences to Muslims and Christians over Hindus.

Since the employment situation is worsening day by day, it is important that those Hindu parents who have college going children or grand children, and, those Hindu youth who will soon be entering into employment market seriously look for and identify those Hindu politicians who are bent upon to reduce their E3 space.
In January 2007, the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, sent a note to all “heads of departments, public sector banks and financial institutions, quasi-government organisa-tions, autonomous bodies and all appointing authorities,” asking them to “scrupulously observe” guidelines to make selection panels more representative. All selection panels recruiting ten or more vacancies must have one member belonging to a minority community.

What is more important, the departments have been instructed to submit half-yearly and annual reports, beginning March 2007, detailing number of vacancies at all levels—Groups A, B, C and D—and the number of minorities hired. Dr Manmohan Singh is the Minister for DOPT. This circular instructs to give special considerations to minorities in all appointments, so danger bell is ringing loud and clear for all Hindu job-seekers whether they are leftists or rightists that despite their better profiles percentage of Hindu intake will be reduced adversely affecting them all.

A one man Commission headed by Justice Ranganath Mishra was silently set up by the UPA government which is looking at status of non- Muslim minorities, and, is mandated to recommend ways of helping them get better representation in government services. Its report is due by March 31, 2007. So this Commission is also looking at ways and means to further reduce percentage of Hindus in public services, bank loans etc.

Suppose there are 10,000 vacancies, seats reserved for SC Hindus would be 1500, for ST Hindus 750 and for OBC 2700. Not many Hindus know that about 70 per cent of Muslims are already covered under the Mandal Commission formula and are enjoying benefits under the 27 per cent quota.

In Andhra Pradesh, the Congress government led by Shri Y.S. Rajsekhar Reddy reserved five per cent of seats in government colleges and in government jobs for Muslims. It means that only 9500 seats would be available to all categories of Hindus and other minorities having reserved 500 seats exclusively for Muslims. So, the number of seats available for SC Hindus will get reduced to 1425 from 1500, the number of seats for ST Hindus will get reduced to 712 from 750, and, the number of seats reserved for OBC will get reduced to 2565 from 2700. Number of general category seats in which caste Hindus fall will also shrink from 5000 to 4500. So giving special preferences to minorities over Hindu candidates, which is the core policy of Congress Party, equally hurts educational and employment opportunities of all groups of Hindus, whether SC Hindus, or ST Hindus, or OBC Hindus, or caste Hindus, or leftist Hindus. It is mere arithmatic. If more than 500 Muslims got more marks than the last Hindu candidate, then Muslim candidates will spill over into general category 9500 seats. Incidentally in Andhra Pradesh Muslims enjoy higher literacy rate than Hindus.

In February 2007, Chief Minister of West Bengal issued instructions that “at least 10 per cent of the appointees should be from the minority community.” By courtesy of Leftist Hindu voters, the percentage of Hindus’ job intake is set to fall in West Bengal.

Shri Arif Mohammad Khan, a former Union Minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government, has pointed out that 10 Muslim communities are already part of the Scheduled Tribes and another 83 Muslim communities are included in the OBC list. “Together,” he maintains, “they constitute more than 70 per cent of total Muslim population leaving out only the Muslim creamy layer.” Similarly, a good chunk of Christians are already included in the Scheduled Tribe and the OBC category.

In Bihar, the OBC quota has been divided by ‘secular’ Hindu politicians into backward and most backward to help put nine Muslim groups in the first category and 27 Muslim groups in the second category.

In Kerala and Karnataka, the Hindu politicians of Congress Party and the Communist parties have declared the entire Muslim community backward just to reduce the percentage of Hindus in colleges and in government jobs.

In Tamil Nadu, 95 per cent of Muslims are included into backward formula though Muslims have higher literacy rate in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu than Hindus.

Dr Manmohan Singh is a Rajya Sabha Member from Assam and no wonder there is already five per cent reservation for Muslims in the recruitment for the Assam Police, adversely affecting employment opportunities for SCs, STs, OBCs and all other Hindus as shown above.

It is painful to see how a class of ‘secular, progressive and liberal’ Hindu politicians right from the days of the 1916 Congress-Muslim League Lucknow Pact till date in the form of the Sachar Committee report has been systematically collaborating with Muslim and other minority politicians in concocting justifications to reduce, bit by bit, the educational, employment and economic (E3) opportunities for Hindu boys and girls, including leftist Hindu boys and girls, pushing them to second and third-class status vis-à-vis minority boys and girls. It is a sad story of Hindus betraying Hindus.

This is symptomatic of the slave mentality, which is defined as a tendency to harm, hurt and humiliate members of one’s own community so as to appease ‘others’ at the cost of one’s own community. This habit is also known as gulamiat pasand (GP) or Genetically Acquired Slave Syndrome (GASS). These terms more accurately describe this class of Hindus. Raja Jaichand, Mirza Raja Man Singh of Akbar time, Raja Jaswant Singh of Aurangzeb time etc. were also Hindus but were GP type carrying GASS virus. In rural areas they are called ‘Jaichandi Hindus’.

We Hindus are told day in and day out that India is a ‘secular’ state where religion should be a private matter and every citizen is equal before law. But in practice our secular Hindu parliamentarians and legislators have been passing such laws where the State asks for the religion of an individual and then discriminate against we Hindus. In this game of secularism, Hindu youth turn out to be the worst victims of GP Hindu politicians.

The Article 14 of the Constitution reads: “The State shall not deny to any person equality before the law or the equal protection of the laws within the territories of India.” The Article 15(1) reads: “The State shall not discriminate against any citizen on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex, and place of birth or any of them.” The Article 29(2) reads: “No citizen shall be denied admission into any educational institution maintained by the State or receiving aid out of State funds on grounds only of religion, race, caste, language or any of them.” The Article 30(1) reads: “All minorities, whether based on religion or language, shall have the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice.” Article 30(2) reads, “The State shall not, in granting aid to educational institutions, discriminate against any educational institution on the ground that it is under the management of a minority, whether based on religion or language.”

One may see that the pith and substance of the Article 30 is very much there in the 14 Points of Jinnah because 28 out of 31 Muslim members of the Indian Constituent Assembly which drafted the Indian Constitution were elected on tickets of the Muslim League of Jinnah. This fact is generally suppressed by ‘secular’ Hindu historians.

But on calculated mis-representations and soft-peddling by Attorney Generals appointed by Congress governments, the Supreme Court of India has ruled that equal treatment guarantee of Articles 14 and 29(2) was not available to Hindu boys and girls in minority-run institutions, and; that religious minority educational institutions under Article 30(1) can reserve up to 50 per cent of seats for co-religionist candidates with the result Hindu students including comrades with better marks do not get admissions in such institutions but minority students with lower marks easily get admissions within their reserved 50 per cent quota.

Religious minority institutions have been, thus, empowered by none other than our ‘secular’ Hindu politicians to treat Hindu applicants as second-class citizens of India at the mercy, whims and fancies of “minority managements” even where these institutions receive under Article 30(2) state grants out of taxes largely collected from we Hindus. In the minority institutions, the SC Hindus and ST Hindus are denied benefits of their constitutional reservations of 15 per cent and 7.5 per cent under Article 15. And, for this misfortune of Hindu boys and girls those Hindu voters are responsible who being unaware of harm they inflict upon their own children cast their votes in favour of ‘secular’ parties or don’t go to cast their votes at all.

Hindu politicians have passed such laws that enable a minority student to get cheaper educational loans at three per cent interest per annum from the National Minority Development & Finance Corporation. A minority businessman can get margin money loan for business at five per cent interest from NMDFC. Minority students are required to repay educational loans in five years after completion of his course but a Hindu student has to repay education loan after one year of completion of his course. One may see details at (www.nmdfc.org ). A Hindu student or a Hindu businessman gets bank loans at much higher rates of interest and harsher terms whether he is a member of the Students Federation or that of the NSUI or the ABVP etc. This ill-treatment a Hindu voter has invited for himself and his children by giving his vote to the so-called secular parties or by abstaining from voting.

Congress and other ‘secular’ Hindu politicians have invented such a legal system where a Muslim candidate or a Christian candidate has all the legal rights to compete on equal footings with a Hindu candidate for employment, but there are thousands and thousands of posts paid from government funds for which Hindus cannot even apply, such as the post of the Principal and Vice Principal of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. GP Hindus have set up the National Minority Commission with nominal Hindu presence to ensure that minorities are not discriminated but there is no Commission to ensure that Hindus are not victimised by minorities.

The National Minority Commission does not reflect the religious demographic reality of India so it does not enjoy the confidence of Hindus in general. Either more than three-fourth members of the Minority Commission and other commissions should be Hindus in proportion to their population or these should be abolished being unrepresentative and undemocratic.

Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister, his Sachar Committee and many liberal Hindus make a lot of fuss that Muslims are under- represented in civil services and in higher education. According to the Sachar Committee [page 64], only four per cent of the total Muslim population in India within age group 20 years and above are graduates. At page 65, the Sachar Committee reports that in case of Muslims (age 20 and above) the number of graduates was under four million i.e. only 1.6 per cent of Muslims are graduates if their population as per Imam Bukhari is taken to be 250 million or 2.6 per cent of Muslims are graduates if their population is taken to be 150 million. Since only educated persons can aspire for public jobs, it is natural that percentage of Muslims in government jobs should not be more than 2.6 per cent. Muslim percentage in government service is already more than this percentage by relentless efforts of Congress party to reduce the Hindu percentage.

Sachar Committee reports that while 26 per cent of those above 17 years age and above complete matriculation, this percentage is only 17 per cent for Muslims. So the recommendation is to open more schools and colleges in Muslim areas. The Sachar Committee does not tell that bulk of Muslims who drop out from schools seek gainful employment and start earning more at younger age than what they will earn even after graduating. The Census Report 2001 [Statement 10] lets the cat out of bag when it reports that in the category of household industries (HHI) workers, Muslims representation was 8.1 per cent which is double the national average of 4.2 per cent. This index is only 3.2 per cent for Hindus. In the category of “other workers” Christians enjoyed 52.8 per cent representation, followed by Muslims (49.1 per cent) and Hindus only (35.5 per cent). Thus, higher percentage of Christians and Muslims are in jobs than Hindu percentage and still Hindu politicians of ‘secular’ parties are working hard to reduce E3 space for Hindu students that too with the help of the votes of Hindu parents.

In a significant development, after the tabling of the Sachar report, Muslim MPs, cutting across party lines, handed over a wish-list of sorts to Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh: IITs and IIMs exclusively for Muslims, 5,000 schools, two lakh scholarships and more campuses of the Aligarh Muslim University across the country. A senior HRD official, present at the meeting, said, “The MPs said since IITs and IIMs have less than two per cent of Muslim students, the HRD Ministry should create IITs and IIMs exclusively for Muslim children.” Urdu schools, they also demanded, should be given adequate infrastructure support. “Minority-run societies and NGOs, if they wish to open schools, should be given CBSE affiliation without any delay,” an MP demanded. The Muslim MPs said that these suggestions should get reflected in this year’s budget as well as the Eleventh Plan.

It is painful to see how Hindu parents are being media managed to harm and hurt educational, employment, economic and business opportunities of their own children and grandchildren by giving their notes and votes to such political parties which shout from their political rooftops that they will give special preferences to Muslims and Christians over Hindu youth in matters of education, training facilities, government jobs, jobs under police and paramilitary forces, employment in banks and other public sector undertakings and bank loans, educational loans, etc.

I suggest rather than giving their votes to their ‘caste candidate,’ Hindu parents should start casting their votes in favour of welfare of their own children and grandchildren as Muslim and Christian voters do.

The following data show that the Hindu politicians of the Congress Party have history, habit and precedent of giving second-class treatment to Hindus. Giving second-class treatment to Hindus still continues to be the hidden agenda and core policy of the Congress Party. The more the Hindus give their notes, votes and support to the Congress Party, the more emboldened this Party becomes to treat them and their sons and daughters as the second class.

Let us look at some manifestos of the Congress Party which has been consistently promising that if elected it will give preferential treatment to minorities over Hindus.

The 1996 Manifesto of Congress Party states: “(i) The Congress regards the 15-point programme for the welfare of the minorities as a charter of duties. (ii) It has established the National Minority Finance and Development Corporation—to support projects that promote the well-being of minorities—with a capital of Rs 500 crore. (iii) A Rapid Action Force comprising young men from different communities has been set up. (It is understood that percentage of Hindus in this Force under instructions of the Congress Governments is much below their traditional 95 per cent) (iv)The Minorities Commission has been given statutory status”.

Congress Manifesto of 1998: “(i) Indira Gandhi’s 15-point programme for minorities continues to be our blueprint. Each and every element of this programme will be implemented with renewed vigour. (ii) The Congress will create a new ministry for minorities to ensure better coordination and integration. (iii) A high-powered commission will be set up to examine and give recommendations on how the representation of minorities in public services could be enhanced in a meaningful manner. (iv) The Congress will amend the Constitution to establish a Commission for Minority Educational Institutions and provide direct affiliation for minority professional institutions to central universities”.

Congress Manifesto 1999: “(i) to ensure the reinvigoration of Indira Gandhi’s historic 15-point programme and the monitoring mechanism devised by Rajiv Gandhi. (ii) Measures will be taken to increase the representation of minorities in all public, police and para-military services both in the central and in state governments. (iii)The Constitution will be amended to establish a Commission for Minority Educational Institutions and to provide direct affiliation for minority professional institutions to central universities (iv)The National Minorities Development Corporation and the State Minorities Development Corporations will be made direct-lending institutions”.

Congress Manifesto 2004: “(i) The Congress believe in affirmative action for all religious and linguistic minorities. The Congress is committed to adopting this policy for socially and educationally backward sections among Muslims and other religious minorities on a national scale. (ii)The Congress commits itself to amend the Constitution to establish a Commission for Minority Educational Institutions that will provide direct affiliation for minority professional institutions to central universities”.

Hindu readers may note that the 2004 Manifesto boldly stated: “The Congress has provided reservations for Muslims in Kerala and Karnataka in government employment and education on the grounds that they are a socially and educationally backward class”. But the Census report of 2001, as we have seen above, states that in Kerala and in Karnataka literacy rate of Muslims was higher than that of Hindus. Even the discredited Sachar Committee admits it. So it is dishonesty to call Muslims educationally backward in Kerala and Karnataka states but Congress and communist Hindu politicians are not ashamed to use false data just to reduce percentage of Hindus in educational institutions and in government jobs. Hindu voters of Kerala and Karnataka should take note of this fraud being played on careers of their children with help of their votes.

The Congress party and its UPA allies claim that they are the genuine well wishers of the SC Hindus. Is it true? Christians are demanding that their ‘dalits’ should be included in the 15 per cent reservation quota available to SC Hindus. Muslims are also demanding that ‘dalit Muslims’ be included in the same 15 per cent quota. No one knows precise definition of ‘dalit Christian’ and ‘dalit Muslims’. Since Christians enjoy much better educational facilities as well as literacy rate than Hindu SCs, it is natural that Christians will grab a larger chunk of services within the 15 per cent quota further worsening the employment opportunities of Hindu SC boys and girls. Even Sachar Committee admits that Muslims also enjoy better literacy rate of 59.1 per cent compared to 52.2 per cent for SC & ST Hindus.

Congress party and allies of UPA are supporting the demand to place ‘dalit Christians’ and ‘dalit Muslims’ under the SC category. Shri Abdul Rahman Antulay, Union Minister for Minority Affairs publicly stated in November 2006 that it was time to include dalit Muslims and dalit Christians in SC/ST Reservations.

Close on the heels of Prime Minister Sardar Manmohan Singh’s “Muslim first” remarks made at the National Development Council meeting, a High Level Committee of the Human Resource Development Ministry led by Shri M.A.A. Fatmi, Minister of State, has made a case for review of the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order 1950 so as to include Muslims and Christians in the SC category (Indian Express, February 19, 2007).

A NGO has already moved to the Supreme Court to include dalit Christians into the SC definition by amending the 1950 order, and; no wonder the Manmohan Singh-led Government may manage to lose this case by not presenting the case of Hindu SCs properly. So the danger bell for SC Hindu students is already ringing. The point is whether they and their parents are aware about it.

In its 2004 manifesto, the CPI(M) promised to extend reservation facility to ‘dalit Christians’ by including them in the 15 per cent quota. The 1998 Joint-manifesto of all Left parties also promised to include ‘dalit Christians’ into the SC reservations of 15 per cent quota.

BSP leader late Kanshi Ram was reported to have assured support of his party to include ‘dalit Christians’ in the Presidential Order of 1950.

DMK leader K. Karunanidhi, Chief Minister Tamil Nadu, also supports inclusion of ‘dalit Christians’ into the SC category.

In September 2004, Ram Vilas Paswan, president of Lok Janshakti Party had promised to grant Scheduled Caste status to socially and economically backward Muslims. In December 2006, he supported a sub-quota for Muslims within the 27 per cent OBC quota who are already covered under the Mandal OBC formula while supporting demand to include ‘dalit Christians’ and ‘dalit Muslims’ under the 15 per cent quota. Shri V.P. Singh also supports a sub-quota for Muslims within the 27 per cent OBC space.

On December 5, 2006 the Samajawadi Party led by Shri Mulayam Singh, the Congress party and their other allies in UP passed a resolution in the UP State Assembly demanding reservations for ‘dalit’ Christians and ‘dalit’ Muslims within 15 per cent quota which will harm the employment opportunities of SC and ST Hindus as Christians and Muslims both enjoy higher literacy rate over SC and ST Hindus.

So those SC and ST Hindus who do not want to harm and hurt career prospects of their children should never cast their votes in favour of any of these secular parties. SC and ST Hindu job seekers and students must explain difficulties which await them if their parents did not exercise their votes with due caution or abstained from voting.

No parent knowingly wants to hurt career of his children so it is duty of Hindu students studying in colleges and universities to brief their parents the misfortune which will visit them if they voted to any party which wants to include Christians and Muslims in the 15 per cent quota. A parent is so busy in earning livelihood that he does not get time to read the manifesto and thus understand dirty tricks of GP Hindu politicians being played against Hindu Youth.

Since the employment situation is worsening day by day, it is important that those Hindu parents who have college going children or grand children, and, those Hindu youth who will soon be entering into employment market seriously look for and identify those Hindu politicians who are bent upon to reduce their E3 space.

The problem of unemployment continues to worsen day by day and in this environment Congress and other secular parties are hell bent through the Sachar Committee to reduce employment space available to Hindu youth. The National Sample Survey Organisation’s latest report of January 2007 shows that unemployment is much higher among youth (15-29 years age) as compared to overall population, and, that unemployment is rising.

The unemployment rate in Delhi has gone up from 3.2 per cent in 1999-2000 to 5.3 per cent in 2004-05 and in Kolkata from 7 per cent to 8.1 per cent. (Indian Express February 16, 2007)

At the end of December 2005 about 393 lakh job seekers were waiting for jobs on the live registers of 947 employment exchanges across the country against which only 1.73 lakh got jobs in 2005. About 50 to 55 lakh new persons register every year with the employment exchanges looking for jobs.

Over 52 lakh graduates and post-graduates were waiting for jobs in December 2005 in all the employment exchanges.

According to the Sept 2006 National Sample Survey report, 58 per cent of Indians were without jobs in 2004-05 and the unemployment rate was higher among educated ones than among less educated ones. In rural areas, 56 per cent of people were unemployed and in urban areas 63 per cent were unemployed. According to a study by the Hewitt Associates, by 2020, India will have the largest number of educated but unemployed youth in the world.

M.V. Rajasekharan, Minister of State told the Lok Sabha (August 23, 2006) that annual growth rate of employment creation during the 1983-99 was 2.7 per cent which slowed to 1.07 per cent during 1994-2000. Shri Suresh Pachaury, Minister of State informed the Parliament (August 23, 2006) that there was no proposal to remove ban on creation of new posts in the government sector.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chief Minister of UP has been claiming that he has fulfilled his promise to the Muslim community to raise percentage of Muslims in the UP Police to 15 per cent.Traditionally percentage of Hindus in the UP Police had been above 95 per cent. So the credit for reducing job opportunities of Hindu youth in the UP Police should go to those Hindu parents who vote for Mulayam Singh. It is a tragic case of Hindu parents voting for someone who is determined to reduce employment space of their own children.

In December 2006 press reported that Raghubansh Prasad Singh’s Ministry of Rural Development, for the first time in the history of Independent India, set aside Rs 1,000 crore for religious minorities for the three schemes (i) Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) (ii) Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) and(iii) Sampoorna Grameen Rojgar Yojana (SGRY). Till now such physical and financial allocations were made only for SCs and STs. Thus, under these three schemes, funds are available to Hindus including those Hindus who had voted for Shri Raghubansh Prasad Singh in the 2004 election and has been reduced by Rs1000 crore by this Hindu politician. It is another tragic case of a Hindu politician betraying his own Hindu voters.

Even the discredited Sachar Committee Report admits (page 53) that the SCs and STs are still the least literate group both in urban and rural India but Manmohan Singh thunders that “Muslims” shall be have the “first” claim over national resources. We must stand up and tell this minority politician who never won confidence of any Lok Sabha constituency that if any group which has legitimate first claim over national resources it is the group of farmers and SC & ST Hindus. For the anti-Hindu policies of Manmohan Singh-led UPA government, the price was paid by Captain Amrinder Singh specially in the urban areas of Punjab in recently held assembly elections.

The National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) data shows that level of acute poverty is equally high among all communities including Hindus also. As much as 84 per cent Hindus in the below poverty line (BPL) category in rural areas live in conditions dubbed as “below double poverty line”. But showing its anti-Hindu bias, the Congress is diverting huge funds only to address the poor among Muslims. Why it is not simultaneously addressing the poverty of Hindus too?

(To be continued)

RECENT POLL RESULTS - A NATURAL HINDU BACKLASH

Haindava Keralam
Recent poll results-A natural Hindu reaction
3/14/2007 9:21:05 AM: H.Balakrishnan

Ever since the Congress returned to power in Delhi, its policies and politics have gravitated towards restoring its old vote banks. Blatant appeasement of the Muslims has become an article of faith for the party, and this was first reflected in the reservation of five per cent seats for Muslims in Andhra Pradesh. Even though the courts have held communal reservations to be unconstitutional, the party has insisted on going through with the measure. This was followed by a sinister campaign to extend the benefits of reservations to 'Dalit' Muslims and Christians. Finally, an old lackey of the Congress was used to prepare a report on the state of backwardness of the Muslim community so that the government could use this report to initiate special measures for uplifting the community.

The least middle-class India expected from Dr Manmohan Singh was intellectual honesty, a clean government and progressive policies. But what they got in return is a man who openly declares that one particular community has the first claim and right to the resources of the Indian State.

All sorts of special schemes are being initiated to give sops to the Muslim community. Jumping on to this band-wagon are of course the Communists and other casteist leaders, who are exhorting the Congress government to go even further in appeasing the Muslims.

At the same time, the old virus of reservations has been resurrected by this government. As it is an education cess is being extorted from the tax-payer to collect more resources for education. Now this cess has been increased, dealing a double-whammy to the ordinary citizen.

Not only does the hard-working middle-class family face the prospect of their children being denied a fair chance to get a decent education in IITs and IIMs, they are also being forced to subsidise the education of other people's children. This will be the final nail in the coffin of the productive class of people of this country.

Somewhere in the back of the minds of the people these factors would have certainly affected urban voting behaviour. As the Congress goes headlong into its appeasement policy, it will create a natural Hindu reaction. Urban Punjab has shown that. But our 'secularists' will continue being ostriches! The Nation be damned.

Let us hope that the recent poll results when congress and psecuo-secular parties have been routed are the results of hindus reacting to the actions of their enemies and that the anti-national congress and their pseudo-secular majority-hating friends will soon be out of power in all states and the centre as well. BJP and RSS are not doing enough to educate the hindus and to bring large unity at all levels. They must openly say that in hindustan majority hindus will have the first choice on all matters and that minorities will have to live respecting majority sentiments like in other countries. The BJP and RSS must proclaim that revenues from temples will be used only for upliftment of poor hindus only and that they will use these funds for the betterment of sc/st and adivasi and dalit hindus mainly. There has to be greater co-operation between hindus in all levels of activitiy and they must form a solid vote bank and share power and benefits based on proportional represenation of the communities. The poor sections of hindus must get all state benefits and those who hindus who converted to other religions should not be given any special privileges at all in state or central government posts or in educational or other matters.

In spite of such blatant violation of the constitution, I am dismayed by the silence of BJP and RSS. I think they are not doing enough to spread the information through all available sources. I know that media will not be interested. Still millions of people visit temples. Why cant the temple authorities tell the devotees the injustice meted out to the community? There are so many temples under the control of RSS .
Let us also use our relegious places for spreading political awareness.

HOW TO DISPERSE A FRENZIED CROWD?

Cop With a Collar

A young clergyman, fresh out of seminary, thought it would help him better understand the fears and temptations his future congregations faced if he first took a job as a policeman for several months. He passed the physical examination; then came the oral exam to test his ability to act quickly and wisely in an emergency. Among other questions he was asked, “What would you do to disperse a frenzied crowd?”

He thought for a moment and then said, “I would take up a collection.”

INDIAN TWO RUPEE COIN WITH CHRISTIAN CROSS LIKE

Indian Coins with Christian Cross

How many Hindus have noticed that the new two-rupee coins have a sign like the Christian Cross engraved on them? Many European governments have decided to ban the use of the sacred Hindu sign of Swastika by the Hindus of Europe even for religious purposes, even though the other banned tilted Swastika of the German Nazis is of a different inverted design. Is the secular Government of India openly using the sign like the Cross on Indian coins to encourage the spread of Christianity in India?

To please the majority Hindu community, will the Government of India ever show real courage by putting a Swastika sign on any coins and currency notes? In the medical field, why cannot India use a red Swastika in place of the Red Cross? In many Muslim countries, the sign of the Red Crescent is used instead of the Red Cross in the medical field.

Is the UPA-led Government of Manmohan Singh not favoring the Christian community just to keep the Italian Christian Sonia Gandhi in good humor? Is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not acting as a mere puppet of Sonia Gandhi who is behaving like a de facto Empress of India?

By the time you read this, Santhosh George would have told his daughter a secret he has been keeping from her for weeks: not too long from now, he could become a spaceman.

The 35-year-old, who runs a small publishing company at Marangattupilly village near Kottayam in Kerala, has also signed up to become India’s first space tourist, with a confirmed seat aboard the VSS Enterprise spacecraft, from Richard-Branson’s Virgin Galactic company.

"I can confirm that Santhosh George Kulangara has signed up to fly with Virgin Galactic," Louella Faria-Jones, an official of the company, told the Hindustan Times. She said that apart from George, two US-based Indian Americans have also signed up for the flight.

George will travel on board SpaceShipTwo, which has large windows, reclining seats, cabins the size of a Falcon 900 executive jet and wings approximately the size of a Boeing 757. It will carry six passengers and two pilots, Faria-Jones said. In 2004, SpaceShipOne, a prototype of the space vehicle, had already flown to space three times, she added. With its space flights, the company hopes to begin a new era in tourism in just under the next two years.

George, who will have to pay Rs 1 crore for the two-hour flight, said that he has already made a part payment of about Rs 10 lakh. He travels to Paris in May to begin the formalities.

"Travelling is my passion. I have traveled to 50 countries, from one end of the planet to the other… Nothing excites me any more. So going to space was the next target," an excited George said over the telephone from his village.

"My wife has encouraged me for 10 years. Of course, space is something different. But this is an opportunity of a lifetime," he said, and added: "My daughter does not know yet. But if you are going to publish this, I will have to tell her tonight."

A MILLION DOLLARS

The Million Dollar Question for God

A poor man walking in the forest feels close enough to God to ask, "God, what is a million years to you?"

God replies, "My son, a million years to you is like a second to me."

The man asks, "God, what is a million dollars to you?"God replies, "My son, a million dollars to you is less than a penny to me. It means almost nothing to me."

The man asks, "So God, can I have a million dollars?"

And God replies, "In a second."

CNN AIRS MYSTERIOUS 'DIVIDE PAKISTAN'

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/CNN_airs_mysterious_Divide_Pakistan_advertisements/articleshow/1747646.cms
CNN airs mysterious 'Divide Pakistan' advertisements
11 Mar, 2007

WASHINGTON: While Pakistan has charged India with stoking fires in its troubled provinces and produced articles in a Sindhi journal published from New Delhi as 'evidence,' it can drum up far more serious charges against its patron United States.

A maverick 'academic' based in Europe has been buying airtime on CNN for the past two weeks to advertise his book titled Divide Pakistan to Eliminate Terrorism . The 15-second spot, which is aired every day, charges Pakistan with terrorist activities across the world and says the only way to stop this is to split the country into half dozen separate entities, including Sindhudesh, Jinnahpur, Balochistan and Pakhtunistan.

The author of the book, which is being sold on Amazon.com for $ 15.95, is Syed Jamaluddin, who describes himself in a blog ( www.dividepakistan.blogspot.com ) as a British Citizen- Naturalized in UK and a chartered accountant with a degree in conflict management.

On Amazon, he is described as ''an active writer on issues concerning Pakistan's involvement in various terrorist activities in the South Asian region'' who was ''forced to leave Pakistan after the military coup of General Musharraf in 1999.'' It says he also ''liaised with political and religious parties of Pakistan as well as Government Agencies.''

Washington's think-tank circuit, where Pakistani scholars and commentators are frequent visitors, has no idea who Syed Jamaluddin is. The conjecture is he is a disgruntled spook out to embarrass a country that is already in a deep hole in the US where it is seen the grand central -- if not a sponsor -- of terrorism in most quarters, except by administration officials tasked with bringing it to heel with kid gloves.

Indian officials too said they had no idea of the book or the author. One official visiting from New Delhi, when told about the ad, joked that dividing Pakistan was a terrible idea, saying, ''One is bad enough -- who wants to deal with four or five?''
According to the jacket notes for the book on Amazon, Divide Pakistan to Eliminate Terrorism is ''Syed Jamaluddin's vision to address issues related to combating terrorism emanating from Pakistan which have dramatically transformed the entire region into a systematically controlled network having vicious effects to the global peace.''

This book, it says, gives an in depth analysis about the role of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Tablighi Jamat which are involved in producing future terrorists. The book also claims to provide ''specific information about the actual tactics of ISI and Tablighi Jamat and their strategy to disrupt the international peace in the name of Islamisation of the world through holy war and martyrdom.''

Jamaluddin, who declares General Musharraf as a ''Terrorist-in-Uniform'' has also been circulating an online petition calling for the division of Pakistan.

Pakistani diplomats in the U.S, who toil ceaselessly to counter critical newspaper editorials by writing plaintive letters to editors, seem to be stumped by the ad, which usually airs in the morning. A 30-second prime time spot on CNN can cost as much as $ 20,000.

Considering the ad has now been airing for a fortnight, profiting from the book seems farthest from the mysterious Syed Jamaluddin's mind.

A DEFIANT YET BRUTAL FACE OF ISLAMIC FASCISM

A Defiant Yet Brutal Face Of Islamic Fascism

A Third World Scenario

Most of the authoritarian doctrines have one thing in common. That is,
the end justifies the means. Thus, fascism, Nazism, and communism are
the "non-divinely" inspired doctrines where humanistic and moralistic
values are halted to attain the assumed larger objective. In such
totalitarian predicaments, process of extinction of nonconformists may
be conducted with extreme prejudice.

Genocide of a great magnitude is thought to be justifiable because the
"others" seemed to be a threat to the expansion of dogma. Nazi
superiority complex led to the hatred to the Jews and the dogma
cherished the need to annihilate an entire people. In such a
totalitarian dogma, average citizens unknowingly fall prey to
brainwashing where the sense of right and wrong get blurred.

Islamic fascism is not a new development in the contemporary world. The
totalitarian nature of this political idea is indebted to the
Wahhabistic idea in the Arabian Peninsula that culminated only a few
centuries ago. In a traditionalist political Islamism, fascistic nature
is inherent. In governance of a society, the line between secular and
sacred is almost nonexistent. The total subjugation to a powerful elite,
who claims to be arbiters of god's wish, is the common scenario.
Millions of faithful like dumb and driven cattle lose the sense of
morality and humanity to appease god's gatekeepers or the protagonists
of Islamic fascism.

Islamic fascism in the Indian subcontinent was basically a localized
political development. Deobandi students and Abul A'la Maududi were the
pioneers of a movement where interpretation of Islamic norms and
jurisprudence was made in the line of existing Wahhabism borrowed from
the Arab land. Today's greatest threat to human civilization, the
al-Qaeda, and the Talibans got their main inspiration from Wahhabite
philosophy.

In Bangladesh and Pakistan, Jamaat-i-Islami had been historically a
leading protagonist of Saudi-sponsored Wahhabism. The Saudi monarch was
satisfied with the contribution of this fundamentalist party in
enhancing the Wahhabist agenda. Although the Jamaatis are the blood
brothers of the Talibans or al-Qaeda, they have not turned into as
ambitious as the latter. On the surface, it seems they have not resorted
to undermining western interest globally. Not everybody would agree to
such notion.

Khalid Duran has extensively written about Jamaatis' sympathetic ties to
the Talibans in the Pakistani theater. The Jamaatis, though
surprisingly, refrained from committing violent acts against USA and
western nations. This does not make them to be innocent lambs. Maybe,
this could be their tactical maneuver. Nonetheless, some disturbing
events need more vigorous scrutiny. The presently ruling
BNP-Jamaat-i-Islami alliance is helping the cause of Islamism in
Bangladesh.

The new regime that won a landslide victory in a controversial election
held in October of last year is putting its favorites in different
sectors of the country's governing body. A newly elected cleric, the
Khatib of the grand mosque of Bangladesh recently urged his fellow
countrymen to confront USA and US President George Bush. This, he
uttered in an Eid-ul-Fitr congregation where Bangladeshi President and
quite a few state ministers were even present.

If the tragedy of September 11 did not occur, the free world would not
have been bogged down to confront the global menace of Wahhabism
inspired al-Qaeda. Today, the battle line is drawn where the victory of
west's military action is helping the ideological battle against an evil
philosophy. Globally, the victory against Talibans still leaves some
questions unanswered. That is, if Islamic fascists of indigenous variety
do not show any global agenda, how to deal with them when they espouse
brutal and fascist acts within the confines of nation states?

This question has more significance as countries like Bangladesh and
Pakistan are facing the danger of falling preys to the
Jamaati-i-Islami's evil design. Pakistan, due to immense pressure from
her Superpower ally has cornered the fundamentalist party to a great
length. Even then, the danger remains. This party has enough
sympathizers not only in the rank and file but also in the army
hierarchy.

In Bangladesh, the right of the center Bangladesh Nationalist Party
(BNP) draws its power from the fundamentalists who are blessed with
having two ministers in the national government. The painful reality is,
these Islamic fascists, leaders of the Jamaat-i-Islami of Bangladesh
were directly involved in the genocide in the country during its war of
liberation in 1971.

At one time while the Soviet army was engaged in Afghan soil, the
Talibans were friends of the West. So were the Jamaatis. During 1971, in
a bipolar world, USA was involved in a turf war with the Soviets when
Pakistani army juntas allied with the Islamic fascists conducted a dirty
war against the people of Bangladesh. After the war, a number of the
ringleaders of the Islamic fascists fled the country to Arabian
Peninsula.

Ironically, some of them ended up in the western nations. The
Bangladeshi war criminals settled in UK and USA are test cases where the
western nations ignore their presence as they are assumed to be not
directly tied to Osama bin Laden or his terrorist al-Qaeda network. They
have bloodied their hands to uphold the cause of Islamic fascism, but
the killings were done in a Third World hinterland like Bangladesh.

Today, it can safely be said that the perpetrators of the World Trade
Center and the Pentagon attack and the fundamentalist killers of 1971's
Bangladesh are graduates from the same school. They are the torchbearers
of an inhuman dogma where dignity of human lives has no value. For
readers' attention, let us have a brief overview of two notorious
Bangladeshi war criminals who will always be remembered by the victims
as forces of evil.

The Ashrafuzzaman Khan affair:

When the News from Bangladesh on November 10, 1999 published "The
Travail of Ashrafuzzaman Khan's Infamous Diary" (later on republished in
South Asia Tribune with a new title, "Why to read Ashrafuzzaman Khan's
Infamous Diary") many readers at home and abroad were introduced once
again to the heinous killer of 1971. Before the NFB publication, he was
a sought out man in just liberated Bangladesh. His photo was posted in
various dailies as a "Most wanted fugitive."

Later on, a few books on killers and collaborators depicted his picture
and the details of his murderous act. This man was directly responsible
for killing seven Dhaka University teachers before the final moment of
Bangladesh's liberation from the occupational forces. In early
seventies, in a Bangladesh court, Ashrafuzzaman Khan was found in
absentia, to be guilty of the crime.

Today, this criminal is living freely and openly in USA. After the
publication of the article in NFB, an advocacy group, namely Bangla
Nuremberg was formed with some dedicated Bangladeshi expatriates. Some
of them were living in the North America while others were living in
Europe.

Thanks to a handful of dedicated expatriate activists in America, soon
Ashrafuzzaman Khan became a household name in various law enforcement
bodies of USA. This war criminal's thirty-year-old photo along with his
present day portrait and his writing samples were in possession of a
powerful law enforcement body of USA. The US State Department was not
left out either.

The lobbyists met Bangladeshi Ambassador to USA and had a few meetings
with the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina regarding extradition of the
war criminal to his native land. Sheikh Hasina's typical oratory was as
if she was the greatest champion of the Bangladesh liberation cause. The
activists got a different picture altogether.

While the US State Department took some interest in the case and
followed up the matter with another US law enforcement agency, the US
officials' position was - "The ball is in Bangladesh's court." That
means US government wanted to see Bangladesh being more proactive in
resolving the war criminal issue. One reliable source was quoting a
highly placed law enforcement official who said with frustration, "The
Bangladesh Government had been pressing US Government a number of times
to extradite Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's killers back to their home country.

Not one time, the Bangladesh Government approached US Government asking
for extradition of Ashrafuzzaman Khan or any other war criminal who
might be living in the United States." The Hasina Administration failed
miserably pursuing the case. Therefore, a war criminal has the last
laugh.

The other day, New York-based Bangla weekly Thikana published a news
story on the killer of 1971. Today, Ashrafuzzaman Khan is a renowned
Islamist, a busy body in Bangladeshi community affairs in the greater
New York area. The Thikana report said he gave an emotional speech at an
award presentation ceremony for the Quran reciters.

He expressed his frustration as he spoke of the expatriate Bangladeshis
stating that only twenty percent of the Muslims attend the mosque. He
said that if the Muslims did not practice their religion in a
nonbelievers' land, their identity would go away in course of time. The
Office of Special Investigation (OSI), a division of the US Department
of Justice has successfully apprehended a good number of Nazi war
criminals who were hiding in the United States.

In fact, OSI became synonymous with successful prosecution of Nazi
criminals on US soil. In most cases, those Nazis living in the land of
opportunity kept a low profile, occasionally bearing aliases. Some of
them were working in factories; some of them were making a living by
menial jobs. In case of Ashrafuzzaman Khan, a leader of the Islamic
Circle of North America, the situation is quite the opposite. Not only
did he not change his former name, neither does he hesitate to be in the
limelight.

As a son of the soil, he knows the pulse of the Bangladeshis and
Bangladeshi leaders. He knows that in Bangladesh the political wind is
now blowing favorably in his direction. He does not see any threat
coming from Bangladesh now that an Islam Pasand government is in power
over there. Also, he knows it very well that he will die peacefully and
gracefully in an alien infidel land.

Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin saga:

While Ashrafuzzaman Khan story may sound amazing, Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin
episode is as incredible as it could be. Like Ashrafuzzaman Khan, this
war criminal from Bangladesh is leading a rather elegant life in UK.
Ashrafuzzaman Khan did not get any bad rap in the US press, also the
majority of the Allah-fearing Muslims living in North America are
presumably not aware of his murky past.

Conversely, Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin got the infamy because of high level
exposure brought out by a lone UK TV documentary. On May 3, 1995, UK's
Channel Four Television broadcast a documentary titled "The War Crimes
File." Produced by Twenty Twenty Television of London, this documentary
provided exclusive evidence on the criminal past of three former
Bangladesh citizens who became prominent British Muslim Fundamentalists.

The documentary presented vivid eyewitness testimonies of these men, all
of whom had lived in Britain for around 20 years, in organized
assassination and massacres during the 1971 Bangladesh liberation war
against Pakistani military regime. All three moved to England shortly
after the war and each had become a leading figure in Bangladeshi
community and were actively involved in fundamentalist politics.

Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin is one of the three protagonists of "The War
Crimes File." Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin's despicable act in 1971 could have
been blown in the wind if not for the direct involvement of a few young
Bangladeshi activists in the production of the documentary. The brutal
Islamic fascists slaughtered most of the activists' parents when they
were merely infants.

Unlike theirs most other contemporaries growing up during the General
Ziaur Rahman's or General Ershad's (who happened to be the friends of
Islamic fascists) rule, these activists kept the fire in their soul
intact. The following message came from these dedicated individuals who
still keep the mantle of liberation war memories alive.

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty meets British Queen

London : Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty has said that she is keen to put the "Celebrity Big Brother" race row behind her, as she met Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip at a Commonwealth Day event in London.

Thirty one-year-old Shilpa Shetty, one of the five speakers on the occasion at the Westminster Abbey on Monday evening, touched on issues such as racism and AIDS.

Shetty, the Big Brother winner, told the congregation that as a child growing up in Mumbai she was acutely aware that "we have to cope with differences on a daily basis - but unless we do, we have no future".

The Queen, in her address, stressed the need for mutual respect and understanding.

"By respecting the differences and promoting understanding, the future will be better one for us all," she said.

"In today's difficult and sometimes divided world, I believe that it is more important than ever to keep trying to respect and understand each other better," she told the 2,000-strong congregation.

"Let us as individuals actively seek out the views of others, let us make the best use of what our beliefs and history teach us, let us have open minds and hearts, and let us, like the Commonwealth, find our diversity a cause for celebration and a source for strength and unity."

After her speech, Shilpa met the Queen when Prince Philip told her "Look, be careful with your heels" as she nearly slipped in her high, open-toed sandals.
