UNITED STATES, March 23, 2007: If you have ever wondered how many Hindus live in the state of Wisconsin, the religious affiliations of the United States Supreme court or your favorite actor, here's a website with answers to your questions. The site asserts they host "a growing collection of over 43,870 adherent statistics and religious geography citations: references to published membership/adherent statistics and congregation statistics for over 4,200 religions, churches, denominations, religious bodies, faith groups, tribes, cultures, movements, ultimate concerns, etc." They present data from primary research sources (government census reports, statistical sampling surveys and organizational reporting) as well as citations from secondary literature which mention adherent statistics.

For example, here, you'll find a list of every estimate of the Hindu population worldwide, by region, country, state and even a few cities, either as a number, or as a percentage. There are nearly six hundred listings for Hinduism, each one giving the source of the information.
