A Food for Thought! (UNBRIDLED LACK OF MORALITY A RECIPE FOR ECONOMIC DISASTER)
The disaster of ‘me, me’
S Gurumurthy

26 Feb 2009 02:13:00 AM IST

This happened in Mangalore as February 14 — now marketed as Valentine’s Day by traders to sell their wares — was approaching.

Upset with public drinking by boys and girls, a freak by name Pramod Muthalik got mad. He got some of them in a pub beaten up like their parents would do, but unlike them. He had informed the media about his show so that the news cameras were in place to telecast the Muthalik action everywhere. Thus the Muthalik show was a joint venture between him and the media to keep away the state police, which could spoil the show.. Predictably, the whole world pounced on poor Yeddyurappa who heads the BJP government in Karnataka for allowing Muthalik to take the law into his hands. The BJP, ever torn between its love of Hindu culture and its desire for a modern image, was greatly embarrassed. With the BJP in power in Karnataka, Muthalik knew the publicity value of his show. Had he enacted his theatre elsewhere, like when the Shiv Sena raided pubs years ago in Mumbai and Pune under the ‘secular’ Congress rule, it would have been far less noisy.

More. By just one mad act, Muthalik turned many, including a minister, into full-scale lunatics. Renuka Chowdhury, a minister of state, supported a “pub bharo andolan” to take on Muthalik, thus openly encouraging young boys and girls to take to mass drinking in public. And believe it or not, her portfolio is Women and Child Development. Came an even more mad response to Muthalik’s take on Valentine’s Day. “I support every kind of love, heterosexual, transgender, marital, extramarital”.

This is Arundhati Roy sermonising to youths. Why she left out incest from her catalogue of love is not clear. Now, take the secular media. It quickly equated pubgoing with individual rights, and held Muthalik as an offender against human rights. Evidently, the mad act of a freak Hindu in a distant corner of India is sufficient to turn the whole of secular India into lunatics. Now move away from this trivia to the danger to which Renukas and Arundhatis expose the nation’s economy.

The current Indian discourse on individual and human rights, which tends to smuggle in even gay and lesbian rights, apes the West. As India attempts to copy the West, it clearly misses the serious economic issues that confront West, thanks to its obsession with unfettered individual and human rights. Many in the West now seem to realise that continuously undermining the moral and social order has led to the present economic crisis. The West did not slide overnight. Beginning from the late 19th century, the Anglo-American West gradually moved away from a relation- based lifestyle to a contract-based lifestyle.

While culture and tradition govern relation, law and rights inhere in contracts.

And this move from relation to contracts became almost complete in the second half of the 20th century. With law overriding relations, even parents could not curb the rights of their wards once they legally matured.

It is the other way. If they acted against their wards, the law would punish the parents for child abuse. So contracts replaced relations, and rule of law substituted for moral order. To what effect? The rise of unfettered individualism and undefined feminism have led to the erosion of families and a rise in divorces, singleparent families, unwed mothers, lesbians, gays and almost the collapse of traditional families. Over 50 per cent of the first marriages, 67 per cent of the second marriages, and 74 per cent of the third marriages end in divorce in the US . Over 40 per cent of births are outside wedlock. Almost half of the families are headed by a single parent.

The number is more in most of Europe . It was seen as cultural erosion first. But slowly it has turned into an economic disaster.

The contract-based model undermined families and led to low or no household savings, high personal debt, credit card based living, outsourcing of household functions including kitchen work. The erosion in relation-based lifestyle soon imposed a huge social security burden on the state because the family mechanism that supported the unemployed, infirm, aged and the rest and the state had to step in to aid them. Thus the family functions were taken over by the state. The families were nationalised. The overburdened state consequently had to shed its traditional functions, like public works, and privatise itself.

The socialisation of family functions obviated the need to save for a rainy day and led to even lower savings. With the growth of individualism to the exclusion of kinship and relations, corporates and the state alike promoted unrestrained consumerism.

Result, some 110 millions US households have some 1.2 billion credit cards, almost a dozen cards per household.

As the people saved less and spent more, they got into trillions of dollars of private debt; and as the government spent more, it also ran into tens of trillions of dollars of public debt. The result is that the government is bankrupt and so households are insolvent. More, the US , the largest creditor nation of the world three decades ago, is today the number one debtor of the world, with $12.5 trillion of debt.

A quick survey shows this: all individual- centric economies are deep in debt; but nations more family-oriented and less individual- centric, like Japan, China, India, and generally Asian nations, account for over three-fourths of global savings; the individualist West lives off the savings of family-centric Asia. Today the West says that, in the present crisis only Asia , which has huge savings thanks to family orientation, can save the West, which has almost lost its traditional family lifestyle.

So the idea of unbridled human rights and unrestrained personal freedom that have led to social and cultural degeneration are increasingly seen as the cause of the present economic crisis. Weeks ago, Thomas L Friedman, a leading economic journalist, wrote in the New York Times that he had told those eating in a restaurant that they could no more afford to eat out and they had better cook and eat at home. But how will they cook and eat at home unless families are re-created? If they do, how would the US compensate for loss of employment if restaurants, which exist because households have closed their kitchens, shut down? There seems to be no solution within economic laws to the present crisis of the West. Amoral economics once yielded higher returns. It now yields negative returns.

Here Renukas and Arundhatis advocate unbridled individualism that has undermined families and morals and dynamited the economies of the West. Renuka questions the idea public morals. Arundhati advocates amoral living. Both seem unaware that an economy built at the cost of family and social morals, too collapses on the ruins of the morals it has brought down.. QED: morality supports economics; lack of it ruins economies

A Chinese man walks into a bar in America late one night and he sees
Steven Spielberg.
As he was a great fan of his movies, he rushes over to him, and asks for his autograph.

Instead, Spielberg gives him a slap and says,
“You Chinese people bombed our Pearl Habour, get outta here.”

The astonished Chinese man replied,
“It was not the Chinese who bombed your Pearl Harbour, it was the Japanese”.

“Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, you’re all the same,” replied Spielberg.

In return, the Chinese man gives Spielberg a slap and says,
“You sank the Titanic, my forefathers were on that ship.” Shocked, Spielberg replies,
“It was the iceberg that sank the ship, not me.”

The Chinese man, replies, “Iceberg, Spielberg, Carlsberg, you’re all the same.”

Radhe Krishna To all,

Sadasiva Brahmendral was a Mahatma. There are lots of 'pramana' (proof) in his life for his 'advaita anubhooti' (experience of oneness). Once, while still a young boy he was not able to get food when he was hungry. His mother told him that it would take some time. He thought, "Of what use is this home where one cannot get a morsel of food when hungry?" and left home! Hunger brought about a great change in his life. We also suffer lots of sorrows in our lives. But, no change seems to occur in us!

Ramana's father's death brought about a transformation in his life.

Buddha was a prince who had a beautiful wife and children. But, the scene of an old man, death and disease led him out of the comfortable palace to a forsaken 'bodi' tree and he 'Realized' the Truth. We also see such scenes of old age, death and sickness but it does not create any impact on us.

Pattinathar was a famous Minister in the court of the King in Kaveripoompattinam. He was a rich merchant, too. He sent his young son across the sea on trade. On its return journey the ship was caught up in a storm and there was danger of the son losing his life. The father prayed fervently for the safe return of his son. But, when the son returned he asked him what he had earned out of his business trip abroad. The young son showed a needle with a hole that could not be threaded. The enraged father beat up the son. The young son asked Pattinathar, “Father! What was your prayer to the Lord last night when I was caught up in the storm? Did you not pray that you did not seek any wealth but only my life? But, now you are angry with me. Know that even this needle that cannot be threaded will not accompany you when you leave this world!” These words were a slap on Pattinathar's face. At once he left his home, his wealth, his post, to seek God

In Sundaramoorthi Nayanar's life, it is found that the Lord stops his marriage and takes him unto Himself. Thus, God takes each unto Himself in different ways.
Purandaradasa, filthy rich but a miser, at the age of 30 gave up everything in a moment to seek God.

On a stormy night Tulasidas goes to join his wife who was on a visit to her parental home. His shocked wife who was spiritually evolved through the japa of Rama Nama points out to him, "Do you know how you have reached this place on this stormy night? No boatman has had the courage to bring you across the flooded Ganga. You have ridden on a dead body taking it to be a block of wood! You have taken hold of the most poisonous snake mistaking it to be a rope hanging from the tree and jumped over the wall to enter this house. This is because of your desire for this bag of flesh and bone. If only you had one percent of this earnestness (that you possess to see this bag of bone and flesh) to see Lord Rama, you would have seen Him long back! Have you ever felt this deep restlessness to see God?"

These words of his wife rang in his ears as he lay down to sleep that night. In the morning it took him away to Kasi Kshetra! We find that he sacrificed everything ('sarva sanga parityaga') and wrote Ramayana. Some word or incident seems to have been the reason for making them into a Mahan. Such incidents seem to occur due to God's Will.

!!! Will Continue !!!

PARLIAMENTARIANS CLEARING PENDING BILLS!

It refers to pleasant surprise, courtesy Election Commission, that retiring Lok Sabha members are ‘voluntarily’ rushing to clear their pending dues towards government-bills like of rent, water, phone, electricity etc. because new rules authorise returning officers to reject nomination forms of those Parliamentarians which fail to secure no-objection certificates in this regard. But what about recovery of dues from those not willing to re-contest elections? Pending dues from former Parliamentarians should be deducted from their first payments of pensions. For future, system should be for regular auto-adjust of bills from pay-packets of MPs so that arrears may not be generated at all. Elected representatives should be made to act as role-models for being exemplary law-abiding citizens.

In a recent response to an RTI petition, Air Force has admitted that suit for recovery of Rupees 59131476 as dues for use of Air Force planes as Prime Minister by late Shri Chandra Shekhar for non-official purposes was dismissed by the Court because of his death, and Air Force has to file an appeal in the High Court for recovery of the amount from his legal heirs/political party he belonged. Heavy recoveries are also due towards HD Devegowda and VC Shukla. It is a national shame that even persons having been posted as Prime Minister are defaulters towards national exchequer. Rule should be to de-recognize such persons and their political parties, and not allowing them to contest elections till Air Force dues are paid. Prime Ministers/Defence Ministers entitled to use Air Force planes for non-official purposes should be made to pay in advance before boarding them.

Even persons using government-accommodation must compulsorily vacate the same within one month of losing entitlement to retain with courts resisting granting stay on evictions. In Britain, new Prime Minister finds 10, Downing street (London) vacated to enter the official residence just after taking oath. Even in India, Shabana Azmi vacated the government-bungalow before she moved to attend her last session of Rajya Sabha.

They've started calling Indians 'slumdogs':
Composer Aadesh Srivastava

Mumbai, Feb 20 (IANS) Bollywood composer Aadesh Srivastava says he is embarrassed to walk on the streets of the US after Oscar-nominated "Slumdog Millionaire" because "they have started calling Indians slumdogs".

"I'm so upset. They've started calling Indians 'slumdogs', just like 'coolie' was a 'slang' in Britain. Now in the US I feel slumdog is a 'gaali' (slang) for Indians. Mumbai has given me everything," Srivastava told IANS.

"To see the city being shown as a place of dirt, filth and crime only is very humiliating. Even I can make a film on child prostitution and paedophilia. But it won't get Oscars because I am not a 'gora' (white)," added the composer.

Based on Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup's novel "Q & A", "Slumdog Millionaire" is about an impoverished teaboy who wins a quiz show. Directed by British director Danny Boyle, the story is set in the slums of Mumbai. While Anil Kapoor, Freida Pinto and NRI Dev Patel played main leads, A.R. Rahman composed the music for the movie. It has got 10 Oscar nominations, out of which three are for Rahman.

The film was lauded in the West, but it has been criticised by some in India for showing its ugly side by concentrating on grinding poverty.

"What right does the director have to show Mumbai as a slum? Now we are considered a slum city in all parts of the world. Humlog kahin mooh dikhane laayak nahin rahe (we're unable to show our face anywhere)," said Srivastava, who watched the movie in Los Angeles this week.

Srivastava applauds fellow composer Rahman's music in the movie, but says he'd never be part of a film that makes India look like a slum.

"I'm so upset. It's a disgusting movie. Being an Indian it was doubly humiliating to be watching the film with Americans. Even if Steven Spielberg asked me to compose music for a film that makes fun of India, I won't do it," he said.

Being a diehard Amitabh Bachchan fan, Srivastava is appalled by the way the Big B is shown in the film.

"I puked when I saw that kid smeared in shit asking for Bachchan saab's autograph. What the f...k was that? Does Danny Boyle know what Bachchan saab means to us Indians? Who would dare approach him like that?

"We applaud people who come to our city and spit in our faces!" he said.

Radhe Krishna To all,

Seshadri Swamigal was born in the Kamakoti family that had been brought from the banks of the Narmada and settled in Kanchi (one of the seven holy places [Sapta Mokshapuri]) by Adi Sankara. He was born to his parents with the blessings of Goddess Kamakshi. Even at the young age of 13 he had attained the siddhi of leaving a locked room. Devas were visible to him. He was forever going around Kamakshi temple (Kancheepuram), chanting the ‘Mookapancha stuti’ that is filled with dispassion. Even as a young boy he drew the Holy Mountain (even without having seen it) and worshipped it. After his mother’s death he moved from Kancheepuram to Tiruvannamalai.

The Swami would walk right through a marriage hall into the kitchen and empty the vessel there. The shocked people would find a snake in the dish prepared. The Swami would walk on the water of the pond near Ramanasramam. He would clap his hands and a thousand ‘Garuda pakshi’ (the divine eagle) would appear! With a clap of his hands thousand peacocks would appear! The Swami would enter a shop and picking up the coins from the cash box, throw it all over. The shopkeeper would be very happy, for, his business would boost up. The Swami was usually found in the graveyard, in Annamalai temple or in Durgai amman temple. Somebody would offer the Swami a new dhoti. Wearing it, he would go to the graveyard and give the new dhoti to the keeper there in exchange for his dirty dhoti! He had given up food and water.Mad, dumb, inert - explains Srimad Bhãgavatam of the state of Jnanis.

Seshadri Swamigal was such a great Mahatma. He had also lived and attained siddhi in Tiruvannamalai. Seshadri Swamigal had performed Giri Pradakshina 1,00,008 times!
Bhagavan Ramana Maharishi who never advocated any external spiritual practices (like japa, dhyana) strongly recommended circumambulation of this Holy Arunachala. Can then one speak on the glory of this Giri Pradakshina in mere words? Many are the greatness of this Giri Pradakshina. No other spiritual practice is needed.

Once a young boy came in search of his mother who had not returned home after her daily Giri Pradakshina. Seshadri Swamigal said to this boy that his mother had become one with the Holy Arunachala and that she would not return home! Such is the glory of this Mountain; such is the glory of this Kshetra; such is the glory of these Mahatmas and Yogiramsuratkumar arrived here to crown it all!

God takes each unto Himself in different ways. Some incident or words sparks off the spiritual quest in a Mahan and he does not stop until ‘Realizing’ the Truth. We also come across lots of incidents/happenings in our lives but they do not seem to bring about any transformation in us. This only goes to show that this is only the Will of God.

Mahoday,

Ram Ram, JAI SITARAMJIKI.

In the last para of ur today's article, you say, I quote:-

God takes each unto Himself in different ways. Some incident or words sparks off the spiritual quest in a Mahan and he does not stop until ‘Realizing’ the Truth. We also come across lots of incidents/happenings in our lives but they do not seem to bring about any transformation in us. This only goes to show that this is only the Will of God.

We do try to follow the spiritual path but we keep erring due to many reasons associated with our body, such as laziness etc. and keep suffering as to how we will make progress. But it appears to me from the stories of many Mahan Atmas who are born with spirituality in them and they keep progressing on the path without much effort or any deviation. As you say that 'this is only will of God'; then perhaps we should wait for God's grace to shower upon us too before we can make any real progress. Doing RAM NAM BHAJAN helps a lot and this is the only thing I am able to do whenever I can. Please clarify and expound. Please also bless me to be more peaceful and detached from my present worldly existence.

JAI SITARAMJIKI, JAI RADHAKRISHNJIKI, JAI VEER HANUMAN.

YOU ARE FEEDING UR CHILDREN - WHAT?

You're Eating … What?
A guide to 7 sketchy additives that may be lurking in your food.

You're Eating … What?
By Sally Wadyka for MSN Health & Fitness

Want some dead bugs with your dinner? Well, that's just one of the freaky ingredients involved in making some popular processed foods. And while all seven of these sound incredibly icky—though presumably used to help make your food tastier or look better—some additives are decidedly more disturbing than others. Here's what you're eating—which may inspire you to start contemplating those ingredient labels a lot more closely.

Carmine

According to the FDA, this red food coloring (also known as cochineal extract) is made from dried, ground bugs . The Dactylopius coccus costa insect is native to Peru and the Canary Islands, where it feeds on red berries. The berries accumulate in the females' stomachs and in their unhatched larvae—which is what gives the extract its red coloring. Carmine is one of the most widely used coloring agents, and food manufacturers routinely use it to turn foods shades of pink, red or purple. Chances are it's what makes the color of your strawberry yogurt or that cranberry drink look so appealing.

But the problem is that at the moment, you have no way of knowing if you're ingesting these little red bugs. Instead, the label will simply read, "artificial color" or "color added." But the Vegetarian Legal Action Network petitioned the FDA to disclose the presence of carmine, and in 2010, that requirement will go into effect. "But it will still be listed only as carmine or cochineal extract, with no mention of the ingredient's source," says Michael Jacobson, Ph.D., executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest. "The onus will be on the consumer to know what carmine is, and that's asking a lot."

You're Eating … What?
Carrageenan
This is a fancy way of saying seaweed, and it's used as a thickening agent in foods such as ice cream, pudding and other dairy products. According to Jacobson, it's extracted from red seaweed that's plentiful on the Irish coast. It meets the FDA's GRAS (Generally Regarded as Safe) criteria and it's vegetarian, unlike some other gelling agents.

You're Eating … What?
Shellac
Just in case you haven't eaten your fill of bugs, here's another opportunity for insect consumption. Shellac—which is used to make that shiny coating on jelly beans and to give fresh fruits and vegetables that perfect, glossy finish—is made from the excretions of Kerria lacca insects that are native to Thailand. Again, vegetarian lobbyists have urged the FDA to require that labeling indicate if fruits and vegetables are coated with an insect-derived substance. The FDA wouldn't go that far, but, according to Jacobson, it did require produce packers to disclose whether any coating used is animal- or vegetable-derived. "But it would be on a placard or on the box of produce, not in bold type on the fruit or vegetable itself," says Jacobson, and not necessarily displayed to grocery shoppers. "And I don't know that the regulation is very strongly enforced," he adds.

You're Eating … What?
Gelatin
Gelatin is used in many packaged foods as a thickening agent. In addition to gummy candy, gelatin is found in Jell-O, ice cream and yogurt. But those innocent-looking little Gummi Bears are hiding a somewhat distasteful secret. According to the USDA, the gelatin that gives them their kid-pleasing texture is created at the expense of several different animal parts, including ligaments, skin, tendons and bones. Though some non-animal versions of gelatin are available, vegetarians know to avoid packaged foods containing gelatin, unless it's specifically labeled as being derived from a vegetarian source.

You're Eating … What?
Bacteriophages
This is a case of an additive that sounds perfectly disgusting, but experts reassure that it's also perfectly safe—and even smart. Cold cuts and cheeses are often sprayed with a mixture of viruses (known collectively as bacteriophages) that work to help prevent listeria—a microorganism that can be lethal when eaten. "The viruses attack the bacteria and prevent bacterial growth on the food," says Jacobson. "It's actually better than harmless; it's a very clever way to prevent illness."

You're Eating … What?
Xanthan gum
While we're on the subject of bacteria, here's another one. Xanthan gum is a microbial polysaccharide that's derived from the bacteria Xanthomonas campestris. It's used to thicken liquids, and since it takes very little for it to accomplish that goal (concentrations of 0.5 percent or less), it is generally considered safe for use. You'll find it in most bottled salad dressings to help stabilize keep the oil from separating out. But what you may not know is that Xanthomonas campestris is responsible for the plant disease known as black rot.

You're Eating … What?
"Natural" flavors
Natural flavors are the mystery meat of the food-additive world. And while they sound like a good thing—who doesn't want to eat something that's "natural?"—the term can be misleading and confusing. You will find these so-called natural flavors in just about every sort of processed food. They're used to give a "smoked" meat a smoky flavor; give canned peaches back their peachiness; and give an almond-flavored cookie its advertised nuttiness. The mystery is always that when the ingredient isn't specified—and it usually isn't—you don't necessarily know if that "natural flavor" is coming from something you want to eat.

For example, you might assume that if canned peaches list "natural flavoring" in the ingredients list, the flavor would be derived from a peach. But according to Jacobson, it could just as likely be referring to apricot extract. Which is fine, unless perhaps you are allergic to apricots. And according to the current Federal Code of Regulations, a natural flavor could be extracted from meat but does not have to specify that if "the function in the food is flavoring rather than nutritional." Once again, it's a case of consumer beware.

Which one is hate and which one is love, Dilip Kumar Mudaliar@A R
Rahman?

S V Badri

25 February 2009

This is not to belittle the genius and success of A R Rahman. This is
just to connect his recent statement at the Oscars to his background,
and to reveal the unknown face Rahman was so clever as to keep under
wraps. This is to bring to surface the second Rahman – one who took to
hating his natal religion the moment he took to Islam.

To the entire world, he is humility personified. He is pious,
religious, genius, the very best. So be it.

His second Oscar acceptance speech gave him away. It allowed us a
sneak preview of the core of Rahman:

"All my life I had a choice of hate or love. I chose love, and I'm
here"

To understand the statement, one must dig into his early life. It
shows deeply hidden hatred for Hindus and Hindu Dharma, ever since he
converted to Islam.Even I, who had seen him work from very close
quarters on two projects in his pre-Roja days, was bowled over by his
simplicity and humility. He nurtured this fine art for years to win
over many of his producers and the public.

The early days of A.S. Dilip Kumar

He was born as A.S. Dilip Kumar to R.K. Sekhar and Kasturi (now
Kareena Begum) in a Tamil Mudaliar family, the second of three
children. His sisters are Kanchana (Rehana after conversion, which
resulted in divorce with her staunch Hindu husband), and Fathima.

Kanchana's son, G.V. Prakash, who has shot to fame as a music director
having already scored music to many films starting with Veyyil and
Rajnikant'sKuchelan, is also a staunch Hindu like his father. G.V.
Prakash was the synthesizer player for Chettinad Vidyashram's music
troupe as a nine-year-old when my son, Aditya Kasyap, then in class
XI, was the music club secretary and lead singer.

R.K. Sekhar (Dilip aka Rehman's father) was an immensely talented
musician, with no real breaks in the film field. He was more a
conductor of orchestra for Salil Chowdhary and Devarajan in Malayalam
filmdom (Mollywood). Yet his father's passion for music was so
embedded in Dilip's genes that when he was just four-years-old, he
started playing the harmonium. Later he learnt piano under the famous
Dhanraj Master. His father gifted him a Synthesizer bought on a trip
to Singapore, and this instrument so fascinated young Dilip that it
became the source of sounds that would change the Indian film music
world later.

In an interview, he says: "My father passed away when I was 9 years
old. My mother used to narrate many tales about my father which used
to make me very happy. My father was regarded to be highly
knowledgeable in music by many people. I still listen to many of the
old songs tuned by him. I think that it's his enormous knowledge of
music that has come down to me by the grace of God."

Sekhar died ironically on the day of the release of his first film.
Young Dilip had tagged along with his mother, hopping from one
hospital to other, including CMC, Vellore, and to Bible-toting pastors
and Sheik Abdul Qadir Jeelani (Pir Qadri), but it was too late…

He became an atheist. When 11 years old, he joined as keyboard player
in Ilayaraja's troupe, struggled hard and slowly made a name with his
popular jingles. His loss of faith in God continued through his teens
when in 1988 one sister fell seriously ill. Medicines, havans and
Bible-reading pastors failed to revive her. The family finally tried
the same Pir Qadri, whom they called very late in the case of Sekhar.
Dilip's sister made a miraculous recovery. This was attributed to the
Pir and Dilip slowly came under his influence. Gradually, the entire
family converted to Islam; Kanchana even accepted divorce as the price
of conversion.

Thus A.S. Dilip Kumar became Allah Rakha Rahman. Today, Rahman says
"Islam has given me peace. As Dilip I had an inferiority complex. As
A.R. Rahman I feel like I have been born again"

Asked what prompted him to convert to Islam, he said: "I remember my
father suffering. He was taken to eight to nine hospitals, including
the CMC hospital in Vellore and the Vijaya hospital in Madras. I saw
him suffering physical pain... I remember the Christian priests who
would read from the Bible beside his hospital bed... I remember the
pujas and the yagnas performed by the pundits... by the time the
Muslim pirs came it was too late. He had already left us. After my
father passed away, for some years when I was a teenager, I believed
there was no God. But there was a feeling of restlessness within me. I
realised that there can be no life without a force governing us...
without one God. And I found what I was looking for in Islam. I would
go with my mother to dargahs. And Pirsaab Karim Mullashah Qadri would
advise us. When we shifted to this house, we resolved to stick to the
faith."

The family's penchant to check with astrologers did not desert them
even after converting to Islam; an astrologer chose Dilip's Islamic
name! He gave him the name Abdul Rahman, but insisted that he should
have two initials, so he became Abdul Rahman Rahman. Later, Naushad
turned `A.R.' to Allah Rakha, and Dilip Kumar became Allah Rakha
Rahman.

It is reputed that G. Venkateshwaran of GV Films and his brother Mani
Ratnam had some misunderstanding with Illayaraja, and that is how
Rahman was picked for Roja; the rest is history.

A Roja becomes a slumdog - Hate vs. Love

"All my life I had a choice of hate or love. I chose love, and I'm
here."

Was the Oscar stage was so intoxicating that the truth had to come
out? Dilip alias Rahman must explain what `hate' is and what `love'
is. Does he mean that Hindu Dharma is `hate' and that is why he
deserted it; that Islam is `love' and that is why he embraced it?
Could he achieve these musical heights in any of the known Islamic
paradises now blooming in the neighbourhood? Above all, is not this
music itself the gift of Hindu Bharat?

A colleague and Rahman apologist mumbled that the musical wonder
actually meant `Wahabi Islam' when he spoke about `hate,' and that
`love' referred to Sufi Islam – I am too old for such stories. If that
is indeed what Rahman meant, then that is what he should have said –
that too at a moment when he had the whole world's attention, and
adulation.

Tail Piece

It is pertinent to recall that in the immediate aftermath of
Partition, the Peshawar-born and immensely talented Yusuf Khan took
the film name Dilip Kumar to deflect possible non-acceptance by a
Hindu audience. In the same era, however, Waheeda Rahman boldly stuck
to her maiden name, and proved that Hindu Bharat was above petty
prejudice and openly nurtured talent.

Certainly Dilip-Rahman deserves his success. But I am disappointed
with his `hate' versus `love' acceptance speech. This was actually the
moment for him to say Vande Mataram.

THE PRESENT DAY SHRAWAN KUMAR

Devoted Indian Son Touches India’s Heart

KATHMANDU, NEPAL, February 8, 2009: For over 13 years, Kailash Giri has been pilgrimaging on foot from one Hindu shrine to another, carrying his blind 83-year-old mother, Kirti Devi, on his shoulders. He is being hailed as a modern-day Shravan Kumar, an epic character hailed as the perfect son.

Wearing the saffron dhoti favoured by Hindu pilgrims, his torso bare and his long hair tied atop his head, Giri carries a bamboo pole on his shoulders from which are slung two wicker baskets. One contains his mother; the other, balancing her weight, contains their meager possessions, topped by a photo of his father, Ram Shripal, who died when Giri was 10.

The frail 36-year-old, a native of Wargi villag in Madhya Pradesh, has become an object of admiration and awe in Nepal’s Janakpur town in southern Dhanusha district where he has arrived to offer worship at the famed Ram and Janaki temple. Mother and son are penniless, but everywhere the villagers offer them food and shelter. Many garland Kirti Devi and touch her in the hope that their own sons will be as filial as hers.

Giri explains that as a young child, he fell from a tree and broke his hand, and it healed due to his mother’s incessant prayers. She pledged to the Gods that she would offer her thanks at a holy shrine; so as an adult, Giri began carrying her to shrines all over India to fulfill her vow. In addition, Giri–who has remained a bachelor to care for his mother– has another mission: He wants to send out the message that parents are a son’s gods and should be served to the best of one’s ability.

Priya Shri Nagendra Rao and all our Bandhus abroad, My hearty greetings to you all from Kashi Varanasi Benares who has blessed me in this first ever visit!
I am so lucky along with my wife to be In the holy pilgrimage of Mahadeva Vishvantha Vishweshwara Vishalakshi Devi at the holiest night - NOW.
Luckier we two are, staying in the erstwhile residence of Kashi Raja and saw the present prince come to the Shivalaya (private royal shrine) in his father's erstwhile palace!!
Luckiest we are to be bathing every day in Ganga and visited Prayaga yesterday.
I went around the Mandir to see 4 different queueues - each of them 3 kms long - right since 12 noon and perfectly calm, devoted and lined up patiently for their turn to pour Ganga in the cans on the Shivalinga. Hundreds cam walking from Prayaga (212 kms away) as they do every year. Like the Yatris of Ayyappa's, HaroHaras', these on pledge carry a shoulder stick with specific things and walk barefoot and in groups. Police are only helping retrace the lost children or old people and their guns / lathis are all wasted. The people are popularly law-abiding and self-disciplined. Vol orgns like Shiva Sena also are helping in announcements of the Lost & Found relatives. All shops in the Bazaar (Chowk) near the Mandir are open and help people in need.
HARA HARA MAHADEVA
Dr Shastry, now in Varanasi Kshetra.

Congress party is working on making Rahul Gandhi the Priminister of India. I was at an Indian get together and somebody mentioned that Rahul Gandhi was a graduate of Harvard. Two or three other well educated Indians agreed with him. Then I informed them that he has only finished High School and only went to Harvard for a few months. If you think he is a good candidate for Priminister, may God Bless India

Rahul Gandhi a College drop out just like his father

On the education of Rahul Gandhi
Rahul Gandhi's post-school education is as follows:

St Stephens - one year, 1989-90
Harvard University - one year, 1990-91

The admission at St Stephens was not on the basis of merit, but on the sports quota. And the sports speciality - rifle shooting. So, one wonders the merit basis about admission to Harvard University.

His job in London? One says that he worked for a computer firm. Another says that he was an investment banker. Give the above education, one has to ask questions about competence in either. Of course, education alone is not a sufficient criteria, but it would be considered to be a necessary criteria. There are many who have not completed education, but have made a name for themselves in their chosen field. But this is something that cannot be said of Rahul Gandhi.

Do Rahul Gandhi's minders really think that they can get away with what they are trying to project? Another issue that arises is why does the media (Indian and foreign) are projecting Rahul Gandhi was what he is obviously not? And do they not have the necessary mechanism to investigate the education background? Either someone is lying to them or they are being told facts duly stretched. But then why is the media falling for it? Here are some reports on the subject.

Rahul is Mentally Slow /Retarded

People who interacted with Rahul Gandhi know this very well , he is mentally slow ! In contrast to Priyanka's assertiveness, one of her only two competitor's to the Gandhi mantle, her younger brother Rahul displays an awkwardness and the type of submissive behavior, which does not a leader make. In comparison to Priyanka's strong and colorful demeanor, Rahul looks like an insipid hanger on. Much of his lack of self-esteem can be attributed to the explosive secret that Rahul Gandhi is in fact mentally retarded. His mental handicap has been well hidden by the Gandhi family and the unconscionable press.

Rahul was in fact refused permission to some of Delhi's top institutions because of his mental handicap. A frustrated Gandhi family had then pulled strings at Harvard, where a quota of seats is always available for a price to the rich and famous. Since then Rahul was bundled off to the US and later UK much as his father Rajiv Gandhi had been packed off to Cambridge in the hopes that he would somehow muddle through an academic degree.

Rajiv of course never passed a single test at Cambridge and instead of bringing home a degree came back with an equally illiterate Catholic au pair of Italian extraction as his wife. Following in his father's footsteps, Rahul too has come back without a degree to his name, and a fair skinned South American Catholic girlfriend on his arm.

ARE WE HAPPY TO LIVE ON AND ON WITH THE SHADOW OF REALITY

I myself feel that Buddha's doctrine is the LAST WORD on religion which can take us out of this trap of life and rebirth This cycle of rebirth gives us some happiness but much suffering through which we have been going on for billions of years or maybe since the world started and since the human being got consciousness and we are taking the shadow of reality as reality and we helplessly continue on with this drama.

On the other hand, Buddha's path is so so difficult to follow and implement that we prefer to continue within the shadows which we take for real and continue on and on and we really never try to get out of it. This all is happening due to AGYAN or AVIDYA that we have misunderstood the whole phenomenon.

I also read a book by a German philosopher Zimmerman, who came to India 100 years ago and studied Sanskrit and all Hindu and off shoot religions of India and wrote a book in German, but he died before his work was published and it was translated and published by Joseph Cambell in mid 40s in USA and the book is part of the course in USA if you take Oriental religions in your Freshman etc. He says that it is all agyan, according to the Hindu sages, and never mind what you do the ultimate result is the same, i.e. nothing on your death and rebirth. Still we go on through this cycle of life and death and rebirth etc. which is never going to stop or end until maybe NIRAVANA.

The train has started moving. It is packed with people of all ages, mostly with working men and women and young college guys and gals.

Near the window, seated a old man with is 30 year old son. As the train moves by, the son is overwhelmed with joy, as he was thrilled with scenery outside, " See dad, the scenery of green trees moving away is very beautiful."

This behaviour from a 30 year old son made the other people feel strange about him. Every one started murmuring something or other about this son. "This guy seems to be crack." Anup whispered to his wife.

Suddenly it started raining. Rain drops fell on the travelles through opened window. 30 year old son filled with joy, " See dad, how beautiful the rain is."

Anup's wife got irritated with the rain drops spoiling her new suit. Anup," Can not you see it is raining, you old man, if your son is not feeling well, get him soon to a mental asylum. And don't disturb public henceforth."

The old man hesitated first and then in a low tone replied, "We are on the way back from hospital, my son got discharged today morning, he was blind by birth, last week only he got his vision, these rain and nature are new to his eyes. Please forgive us for the inconvience caused."

THINGS DON'T ALWAYS APPEAR AS THEY SEEM, SO BE SLOW TO JUDGE OTHERS AS, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, YOU ARE ALWAYS UNWARE OF TRUE SITUATION.

NEHRU THE BIG TREASONIST AGAINST INDIA AND HINDUS

Subject: [proudHindu] HINDUSTHAN WILL PERISH DUE TO NEHRU'S ULTIMATE HIGH TREASOHN

NEHRU, A SECRET CONVERT TO ISLAM, COMMITTED HIGH TREASON BY SURRENDERING ONE THIRD OF INDIA TO HIS FELLOW MUSLIMS IN 1947.

LIKE MOHAMMED ALI JINNAH, WHO WAS BORN IN INDIA BUT REMAINED AN ALIEN MUSALMAN, NEHRU PERCEIVED HINDUSTHAN, HINDUS, SIKHS AND THE ARMED FORCES ALL “EVIL KUFR” AND HIS ENEMIES.
NATURALLY HE WOULD MOST WILLINGLY HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO DESTROY THEM. BUT BEING A DEVIOUS MUSALMAN INSIDE, AND A SMART BARRISTER AT LAW OUTSIDE, HE DID NOT DECLARE DIRECT WAR ON HINDUSTAN AND THE HINDUS LIKE HIS SOUL BROTHER JINNAH.

DESTROY HINDUSTHAN
THE TWO BROTHERS (JINNAH & NEHRU) EVOLVED A GRAND STRATEGY TO ATTAIN THE SAME GOAL EVENTUALLY: TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF HINDUSTHAN, HINDUS, SIKHS AND THE INDIAN ARMED FORCES.

TODAY, FEBRUARY 2009, NEHRU AND HIS DYNASTY ARE CONSIDERED THE SWORN ENEMIES OF “SANT, JAWAN & KISAAN” (HINDU DHARMA, SOLDIERS AND FARMERS).

JINNAH WAS TO GO FOR "DIRECT ACTION" (RECALL THE DIRECT ACTION AGAINST THE HINDUS IN NOAKHALI, BENGAL, AUGUST 1946) WHILE NEHRU WAS TO GO FOR DEVASTATING INDIRECT ACTION AND DECOMPOSE THE HINDU NATION FROM WITHIN.

WE KNOW HOW JINNAH'S DIRECT ACTION PROCEEDED TO ITS CULMINATION IN AUGUST 1947. IT RESULTED IN THE CREATION OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST ISLAMIC REPUBLIC IN SOUTH ASIA.

SURPRISINGLY, NEHRU GAVE HIS OWN BLESSINGS TO THE NEWLY CREATED REBELLIOUS MOHAMMEDAN STATE AND, DESPITE PROFESSING SECULARISM OUTWARDLY TO FOOL THE HINDUS, RECOGNISED PAKISTAN AT ONCE BY ACCEPTING A PAKISTANI HIGH COMMISSION IN NEW DELHI. EVERY DAY WHILE GOING TO OFFICE HE PASSED THE PAKI FLAG FLYING IN NEW DELHI.

HE NEVER MENTIONED LOATHSOME "GOAT" GANDHI'S "AKHAND BHARAT" AND HE NEVER THOUGHT OF BRINGING DOWN THAT PROVOCATIVE OBSCENE & PRIMITIVE MOHAMMEDAN FLAG IN NEW DELHI.

HIS DAUGHTER, INDIRA, STILL ADORED BY MOST IGNORANT HINDUS, ADDED YET ANOTHER ISLAMIC FLAG IN INDIA'S CAPITAL-THAT OF BANGLADESH.

IN PURSUANCE OF HIS "PERMANENT INTEREST", NEHRU NOW DECIDED TO FURTHER "SOFTEN THE TARGET" HINDUSTAN- BOTH TERRITORIALLY, SPIRITUALLY, MORALLY AND PHYSICALLY.

HE ENCOURAGED BROTHER JINNAH TO INVADE KASHMIR. AND WHEN THIS HAPPENED, NEHRU’S DEFENCE OF KASHMIR WAS VISIBLY HALF HEARTED & SHAKEN. THE USELESS PUPPET COMMANDER-IN- CHIEF OF THE TIME WAS HAPPY TO BE A SPECTATOR, WAITING FOR THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO CEASE FIRE.

AFTER MUCH HESITATION, WHILE PANDERING TO PACIFIST GANDHI, HE FELT COMPELLED IN THE END BY RISING PUBLIC OPINION TO SEND SIKH TROOPS TO RECOVER NORTH KASHMIR, BUT QUICKLY LOST HIS WILL TO PROCEED FURTHER.

THE TREACHEROUS BARRISTER (NEHRU) TURNED THAT NAKED AGGRESSION INTO "DISPUTE" AND TOOK IT TO UNO. AT THE SAME TIME HE ORDERED “CEASE FIRE.”

DID BARRISTER NEHRU NOT KNOW THAT WORLD WAR 2 HAD ENDED ONLY TWO YEARS EARLIER WITHOUT A SINGLE CEASE FIRE IN ANY SECTOR IN SIX YEARS WHILE IT WAS RAGING ACROSS THE GLOBE?

THE AIM OF CEASE FIRE IN KASHMIR WAS TO LET PAKISTAN RETAIN NORTH KASHMIR. THEY STILL DO, AND THANK NEHRU FOR THAT HELP.

CRUSH THE SIKHS
HAVING DESTROYED UNITED INDIA, HAVING SURRENDERED LAHORE, NEHRU THEN LABELLED ALL THE SIKHS AS "TROUBLE MAKERS". SIKH SUPPRESSION BEGAN IN FULL EARNEST. IT CULMINATED IN THE ATTACK ON SRI HARIMANDIR SAHIB IN AMRITSAR IN 1984.

WHILE SURRENDERING LAHORE NEHRU NEVER RECALLED THE MARTYRDOM OF GURU ARJUN DEV, THE HANGING OF BHAGAT SINGH OR THE THRONE OF MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH IN THE SAME CITY AND WHILE SURRENDERING SRI NANKANA SAHIB NEHRU NEVER CONSIDERED THE FEELINGS AND SENTIMENTS OF THE SIKHS FOR THE JANMASTHAN OF GURU NANAK DEV. NOR DID HE THINK OF ENSURING THE SAFETY AND DIGNITY OF TENS OF MILLIONS OF HINDUS AND SIKHS WHO WERE SURRENDERED TO THE BLOOD THIRSTY “SWORD OF ISLAM” ALONG WITH OUR SACRED TERRITORY.

NEHRU, A MUSALMAN, BEIMAN, SHAITAN, HAIWAN, HAD NO SENTIMENT OR FEELING FOR ANY HINDU OR SIKH HOLY SHRINE. THUS WENT THE CITY OF MULTAN, TOO, WITH ITS ANCIENT BHAGAT PRAHLAD TEMPLE.

DESTROY THE ARMED FORCES
ALL THE TIME THE ARMED FORCES WERE BEING DEGRADED CEASELESSLY. THEIR BIGGEST SHAME, HUMILIATION AND DISGRACE, THANKS TO NEHRU, WAS ON AUGUST 15, 1947 WHEN THEY WERE ORDERED TO STAY IN BARRACKS OR “WEAR GLASS BANGLES” AND WATCH THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FIVE PROVINCES FROM THE MAP OF INDIA OVERNIGHT.

THEIR SECOND FRUSTRATION CAME WITH THE CEASE FIRE IN KASHMIR.

THE ONLY BRIGHT SPARK WAS THE CONQUEST OF EAST BENGAL BUT INDIRA MADE SURE THAT THE JOY OF THE NATION AND THE THRILL OF THE ARMED FORCES WAS TURNED INTO HUMILIATION WHEN SHE ASKED FELLOW MUSLIM, SHAIKH MUJIBURRAHMAN, TO FLY HIS OWN ISLAMIC FLAG OVER DHAKA ONCE AGAIN.

WHOLE OF HINDUSTHAN WAS LEFT WATCHING INDIRA'S LOVE PLAY WITH THE SHAIKH LIKE "HIJDAS" (EUNUCHS).

AT THE TIME OF WRITING THE INDIAN VETERANS ARE RETURNING THEIR MEDALS TO THEIR USELESS, UNINSPIRING AND LACKLUSTRE "HOUSE WIFE TURNED SUPREME COMMANDER BUCKREE" Pratibha Devisingh Patil, TELLING HER HOW USELESS AND DESPICABLE SHE IS IN MATTERS OF DEFENCE. THE PERSON HOLDING OFFICE OF THE SUPREME COMMANDER OF INDIA IS NOT FOR POLITICAL POPULARITY AT HOME BUT THE ONE TO INSTIL FEAR IN THE MINDS OF THOSE WHO ARE MOST LIKELY TO EXPLODE BOMBS NEAR HER OFFICE, EXPLODE MUMBAI STOCK EXCHANGE, MASSACRE THE INNOCENT TOURISTS IN HOTELS, WHO KILL OUR JAWANS IN ENCOUNTERS IN SOUTH KASHMIR AND WHO ARE SCHEMING AND PLANNING FROM ACROSS THE BORDER TO FLY THEIR ISLAMIC FLAG OVER DELHI ONCE AGAIN.

THE SUPREME COMMANER OF HINDUSTHAN OUGHT TO BE AWE INSPIRING LIKE GENERAL HARI SINGH NALWA WHO CAPTURED KHYBER PASS AND CHASED THE FLEEING PATHANS BACK TO KABUL. FOR DECADES AFTERWARDS MOTHERS IN AFGHANISTAN USED TO FRIGHTEN THEIR CHILDREN, “BE QUIET OR HARI SINGH WILL COME AND TAKE YOU!”

ONE IS SORRY TO SEE THE CONTRAST TODAY. A SOFT SPOKEN GENTLE SHRIMATI, WHO IS HOLDING THAT OFFICE BECAUSE SHE IS ITALIAN BORN SONIA MAINO’S CHOICE, IS THE RASHTRAMATA OF OUR ORPHAN HINDU NATION. THAT IS WHY THE VETERANS ARE RETURNING THEIR MEDALS TO HER.

THE SIGHT OF AN OLD SOLDIER RETURNING HIS MEDALS TO HIS SUPREME COMMANDER IS MORE DISGRACEFUL AND SHAMEFUL FOR HINDUSTHAN THAN WORDS CAN DESCRIBE. IT IS UNPRECEDENTED IN WORLD HISTORY.

CAN WE IMAGINE THE AMERICAN OR BRITISH VETERANS SAYING “GET LOST!” TO THEIR SUPREME COMMANDERS IN THIS POWERFUL SYMBOLIC WAY?

OF COURSE THE WHOLE OF HINDUSTHAN COULD NOT PRODUCE ANY WARRIOR RAJPUT, MARATHA, SIKH, TAMIL OR JAT TO BE THE SUPREME COMMANDER WHO COULD INSPIRE THE JAWANS. THIS SUPREME COMMANDER IS THEIR BIGGEST DEMORALISATION. HENCE THE VETERANS OF INDIAN ARMED FORCES ARE RETURNING THEIR HARD WON BATTLE HONOURS AND MEDALS TO HER.

IT IS WORTH REPEATING THAT SUCH A GESTURE OF DISGUST IS UNTHINKABLE IN PROUD COUNTRIES LIKE THE UNITED STATES AND THE UNITED KINGDOM. BUT IN THE LAND OF GANDHI'S “SHEEP AND GOATS” IT IS THE "NORMAL WAY OF LIFE".

TO SUM UP NEHRU'S STRATEGY

THIS IS WHAT NEHRU DID TO INDIA:
PROMPTLY ACCEPTED PARTITION WITHOUT LAYING DOWN A SINGLE CONDITION AND THEN DELETED THE WORD "PARTITION" FROM THE PSYCHE OF THE NATION AND THE CONSTITUTION IN ORDER TO MAKE THE HINDUS “READY FOR SLAUGHTER” ONCE AGAIN. IT WAS HIS TREACHERY NOT TO COMMEMORATE THE SLAUGHTER OF NOAKHALI (1946) AND THE GENOCIDE IN WEST PUNJAB (1947) ON ANY ONE DAY IN THE WHOLE YEAR.

DESTROY AND DEGRADE THE SIKHS, the historic DEFENDERS OF HINDU DHARMA by surrendering their seat of power & city of Guru's Martyrdom LAHORE and by surrendering their centre of Divinity & Spirituality Sri Nankana Sahib.

DEGRADE AND DESTROY the armed forces STEP BY STEP. He surrendered vast territories of India which they were supposed to defend. Then he reduced their status, emoluments, state of equipment and fitness overnight.
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- ---------

HINDUS AND SIKHS URGENTLY NEED TO STUDY NEHRU'S CHARACTER, PATRIOTISM AND NEPOTISM CLOSELY & CRITICALLY.

THEY ALSO NEED TO INSIST ON THE PROPER CONCLUSION OF THE TRIAL OF RAJIV GANDHI, THE “BOFORS CHOR”. THEY NEED TO SMASH ALL THE STATUES OF TRAITORS OF 1947 AND REPLACE THEM WITH THOSE OF GENUINE PATRIOTS, HEROES AND WARRIORS IN ORDER TO INSPIRE THE DOWNTRODDEN SUBJUGATED HINDU/SIKH NATION.

THE LITMUS TEST OF THAT NATIVE HINDU/SIKH MANHOOD WILL BE TO SEE "MUSLIM ACTRESS, HINDU ACTOR." IN BOLLYWOOD FILMS.

THE LITMUS TEST OF THAT NATIVE SELF ESTEEM, PRIDE, GUTS AND COMVICTION WILL BE EVERY MUSLIM BRIDEGROOM MARRYING A HINDU OR SIKH BRIDE PUBLICALLY EMBRACING HINDU/SIKH RELIGION.

HINDUS AND SIKHS ALSO NEED TO REALISE THAT THEIR OWN BEAUTIFUL AND DIVINE RELIGIONS AND FAITHS ARE NATIVE TO THE SACRED SOIL OF INDIA. IF THERE ARE SHORTCOMINGS THESE CAN BE REMOVED. OUR RELIGIONS ARE NOT IMPOSED OR IMPORTED FROM ARABIA OR THE MIDDLE EAST.

SO, STAND BY, AND COMMEND WITH COURAGE & CONVICTION, YOUR OWN NATIVE VERSIONS OF DIVINITY AND RELIGIONS WITH UTMOST COMMITMENT WITHOUT FEELING INFERIOR IN ANY WAY. OTHERWISE YOU WILL SEE THE FOREIGNERS WEAKEN AND DEGRADE YOU FURTHER TILL IN THE END YOU WILL BE FORCED ON TO SANCTUARIES, OR RESERVATIONS, LIKE THE NATIVE INDIANS OF NORTH AMERICA.

THE FIRST AND FOREMOST TASK OF THE POST-PARTITION HINDU NATION IS TO WIPE OUT NEHRU'S LEGACY AND DYNASTY AND REPLACE IT WITH NATIVE PRIDE & PATRIOTISM ALL OVER.

NATO CAN'T ALLOW AFGHAN FAILURE

Nato 'can't allow Afghan failure'
Nato Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer has said that failure in Afghanistan is "not an option" but he ruled out a military solution alone.

Speaking at a meeting of Nato and partner defence ministers in Krakow, Poland, he said: "We cannot afford the price of failure."

But the military effort should go hand-in-hand with reconstruction and redevelopment work, he argued.

"We should not be under any illusion there is a military solution," he said.

US Defense Secretary Robert Gates has meanwhile said America will consider paying more rent to continue using a strategic air base in Kyrgyzstan which is key to its Afghan operations.

News that the Kyrgyz parliament has voted to close the US base at Manas has overshadowed the talks in Krakow, which Mr Gates is attending.

Concerned about a resurgence of the Taleban in Afghanistan, the US said this week it would send an additional 17,000 troops to the country and would ask Nato to provide more troops ahead of a general election in August.

'Not an island'

"We cannot afford the price of failure in Afghanistan," said Mr Scheffer.

"Instability in an already highly unstable region, a safe haven for international terrorism and massive suffering for the Afghan people is simply too much to accept."

Mr Scheffer said the countries contributing to Isaf (the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan) needed to work together much more closely.

"We, the Isaf nations, must provide more forces, more trainers and an action support in a more joined-up approach," he told reporters.

"We need a regional approach because Afghanistan is not an island. We need a greater civilian effort, married up more effectively with our military operations if we are not to waste precious time and resources.

"And we need a stronger communications effort to show the good we are doing and the heinous crimes the extremists are committing."

Troop limits

Mr Gates said the Manas base was not irreplaceable. The Pentagon would consider "a somewhat larger payment but we're not going to be ridiculous about it", he added.

Earlier, he said the new US administration was prepared to make additional commitments to Afghanistan but expected other allies to do more too.

The 17,000 increase will bring the number of US forces in Afghanistan to more than 50,000.

The US has already deployed about 24,900 troops to serve with Isaf plus about 17,000 under sole US command.

However, there is a growing realisation in the US and the UK that allies such as Germany, France and Italy are unlikely to offer significant numbers of extra combat forces, or change the nature of their missions, says the BBC's Caroline Wyatt in Krakow.

But those countries unwilling or unable to send more combat troops will also be pushed for extra help and funding on the civil side, focussing on governance, police training and the fight against drugs, our correspondent says.

On a visit to Canada, which is due to withdraw its 2,800 combat troops from Afghanistan by 2011, US President Barack Obama said he had not pressed Prime Minister Stephen Harper for an extension of the Canadian combat mission.

Missile shield unresolved

On a separate issue, Mr Gates said the new Obama administration had not decided what to do about a proposed Europe-based missile shield to which Russia objects.

Washington needed a little time to look at the plan laid out by former President George W Bush to place missile interceptors and radar in Poland and the Czech Republic as protection against a possible strike from Iran, he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday that Moscow hoped the new US administration would take a "more realistic" approach to arms control talks.

Such an approach would "correspond to the interests of strategic stability from the point of view of the international community's security", he said in Moscow.

4. NEHRU-GANDHI’S FAMILY TREE WORTH SPENDING 15 MINUTES TO READ

NEHRU-GANDHI' S FAMILY TREE WORTH SPENDING 15 MINUTES TO READ
At the very beginning of his book, "The Nehru Dynasty", astrologer K.
N. Rao mentions the names of Jawahar Lal's father and grandfather.
Jawahar Lal's father was believed to be Moti Lal and Moti Lal's
father was one Gangadhar Nehru. And we all know that Jawahar Lal's
only daughter was Indira Priyadarshini Nehru, Kamala Nehru was her
mother, who died in Switzerland of tuberculosis. She was totally
against Indira's proposed marriage with Feroze. Why? No one tells us
that Now, who is this Feroze? We are told by many he was the son of
the family grocer. The grocer supplied wines etc. to Anand Bhavan,
preciously known as Ishrat Manzil, which once belonged to a Muslim
lawyer named Mobarak Ali. Moti Lal was earlier an employee of Mobarak
Ali. What was the family grocer's name? One frequently hears that
Rajiv Gandhi's grandfather was Pandit Nehru. But then we all know
that everyone has two grandfathers, the paternal and the material
grandfather. In fact, the paternal grandfather is deemed to be the
more important grandfather in most societies. Why is it then nowhere
we find Rajiv Gandhi's paternal grandfather' s name? It appears that
the reason is simply this Rajiv Gandhi's paternal grandfather was a
Muslim gentleman from the Junagadh area of Gujrat. This Muslim grocer
by the name of Nawab Khan, had married a Parsi woman after converting
her to Islam. This is the source where from the myth of Rajiv being a
Parsi was derived. Rajiv's father Feroze was Feroze Khan before he
married Indira, against Kamala Nehru's wishes. Feroze mother's family
name was Ghandy, often associated with Parsis and this was changed to
Gandhi, sometime before his wedding with Indira by an affidavit. The
fact of the matter is that (and this fact can be found in many
writings) Indira was very lonely. Chased out of the Shantiniketan
University by Guru Dev Rabindranath himself for misdemeanor, the
lonely girl was an by herself while father Jawahar was busy with
polities pretty women and illicit sex; the mother was in hospital.
Feroze Khan, the grocer's son was then in England and he was quite
sympathetic to Indira and soon enough she changed her religion,
became a Muslim women and married Feroze Khan in a London mosque.
Nehru was not happy; Kamala was dead already or dying. The news of
this married eventually reached Mohandas Karan Chand Gandhi. Gandhi
urgently called Nehru and practically ordered him to ask the young
man to change his name from Khan to Gandhi. It had nothing to do with
change of religion, from Islam to Hindustan for instance. It was just
a case of a change of name by an affidavit. And so Feroze Khan became
Feroze Gandhi. The surprising thing is that the apostle of truth, the
old man soon to be declared India's Mahatma and the `Father of the
Nation' didn't mention this game of his in the famous book. `My
Experiments with Truth' Why? When they returned to India, a
mock `Vedic marriage' was instituted for public consumption. On the
subject, writes M. O. Mathai (a longtime private secretary of Nehru)
in his renowned (but now suppressed by the GOI) `Reminiscences of the
Nehru Age' on page no. 94, second paragraph: "For some inexplicable
reason, Nehru allowed the marriage to be performed according to Vedic
rited in 1942. An inter-religious and inter-caste marriage Vedic
rites at that time was not valid in law. To be legal, it had to be a
civil marriage. It's a known fact that after Rajiv's birth Indira and
Feroze lived separately, but they were not divorced. Feroze used to
harass Nehru frequently for money and also interfere in Nehru's
political activities. Nehru got fed up and left instructions not to
allow him into the Prime Minister's residence Trimurthi Bhavan.
Mathai writes that the death of Feroze came as a relief to Nehru and
Indira. The death of Feroze in 1960 before he could consolidate his
own political force, is itself a mystery. Feroze had even planned to
remarry. Those who try to keep tabs on our lenders in spite of all
the suppressions and deliberate misinformation are aware of the fact
that the second son Indira (or Mrs. Feroze Khan) known as Sanjay
Gandhi was not the son of Feroze. He was the son of another Moslem
gentleman, Mohammad Yunus. Here in passing, we might that the second
son was originally named Sanjeev. It rhymed with Rajiv, the elder
brother's name. It was claimed to Sanjeev when he was arrested by the
British police in England and his passport impounded, for having
stolen a car. Krishna Menon was then India's High Commissioner in
London. He offered to issue another passport to the felon who changed
his name to Sanjay. Incidentally, Sanjay's marriage with the Sikh
girl Menaka (now they call her Maneka for Indira Gandhi found the
name of Lord Indra's court dancer rather offensivet) took place quite
surprisingly in Mohammad Yunus house in New Delhi. And the marriage
with Manaka who was a model (She had modeled for Bombay Dyeing
wearing just a towel) was not so ordinary either. Sanjay was
notorious in getting unwed young women pregnant. Menaka too was
rendered pregnant by Sanjay. It was then that her father. Colonel
Anand threatened Sanjay with dire consequences if he did not marry
her daughter. And that did the trick. Sanjay married Menaka. It was
widely reported in Delhi at the time that Mohammad Yunus was unhappy
at the marriage of Sanjay with Menaka; apparently he had wanted to
get him married with a Muslim girl of his choice. It was Mohammad
Yunus who carried the most when Sanjay died in the plane accident. In
Yunus book, `Persons, Passions & Polities' one discovers that baby
Sanjay had been circumcised following Islamic custom, although the
reason stated was phimosis. It was always believed that Sanjay used
to blackmail Indira Gandhi and due to this she used to turn a blind
eye when Sanjay Gandhi started to run the country as though if were
his personal fiefdom. Was he black mailing her with the secret of who
his real father was? When the news of Sanjay's death reaches Indira
Gandhi, the first thing she wanted to know was about the bunch of
keys which Sanjay had with him. Nehru was no less a player in
producing bastards. At least one case is very graphically described
by M. O. Mathai in his "Reminiscences of the Nehru Age" page 206.
Muthai writes: "In the antumn of 1948 ( India became free in 1947 and
a great deal of work needed to be done) a young woman from Benares
arrived in New Delhi as a sanyasin named Shraddha Mata ( an assumed
and not a real name). She was a Sanskrit Scholar well versed in the
ancient Indian scriptures and mythology .People including MPs,
thronged to her to hear her discourses. One day S. D. Upadhyaya,
Nehru's old employee, brought a letter in Hindi from Shraddha Mata.
Nehru gave her an interview in the PM's House. As her departed, I
noticed ( Mathai is speaking here) that she was young, shapely and
beautiful. Meetings with her became rather frequent , mostly after
Nehru finished his work at night. During one of Nehru's visits to
Lucknow, Shraddha Mata turned up there, and Upadhyaya brought a
letter from her as usual . Nehru sent her the reply, and she visited
Nehru at midnight€ ¦’¥. Suddenly Shraddha Mata disappeared. In November
1949 a convent in Bangalore sent a decent looking person to Delhi
with a bundle of letters. He said that a young woman from northern
India arrived at the convent a few months ago and gave birth to a
baby boy. She refused to divulge her name or give any particulars
about herself. She left the convent as soon as she was well enough to
move out but left the child behind. She however forgot to take with
her a small cloth bundle in which, among other things, several
letters in Hindi were found. The Mother superior, who was a
foreigner , had the letters examined and was told they were from the
Prime Minister. The person, who brought the letters surrendered
them,. "I ( Mathai) made discreet inquiries repeatedly about the boy
but failed to get a clue about his whereabouts. Convents in such
matters are extremely tightlipped and secretive. Had I succeeded in
locating the boy. I would have adopted him. He must have grown up as
a Catholic Christian blissfully ignorant of who his father was."
Coming back to Rajiv Gandhi, we all know now that he changed his so
called Paris religion to become a Catholic to marry Sania Maino of
Turin, Italy. Rajiv become Roberto. His daughter's name is Bianca and
son's name is Raul. Quite cleverly the same names are presented to
the people of India as Priyanka and Rahul. What is amazing is the
extent of our people's ignorance in such matters. The press
conference that Rajiv Gandhi gave in London after taking over as
prime minister of India was very informative. In this press
conference , Rajiv boasted that he was NOT a Hindu but a Paris Mind
you, speaking of the Paris religion, he had no Paris ancestor at all.
His grandmother (father's mother) has turned Muslim after having
abandoned the Paris religion to marry Nawab Khan. It is the western
press that waged a blitz of misinformation on behalf of Rajiv. From
the New York Times to the Los Angles Times and the Washington Post
the big guns raised Rajiv to heaven. The children's encyclopedias
recorded that Rajiv was a qualified Mechanical Engineer from the
revered University of Cambridgewhich is falsehood but actually he
was cicked out by Rolls Royec from their apprenticeship programme
for non performance . No doubt US kids are among the most
misinformed in the world today. The reality is that in all three
years of his tenure at that University Rajiv had not passed a single
examination. He had therefore to leave Cambridge without a
certificate. Sonia too had the same benevolent treatment. She was
stated to be student in Cambridge. Such a description is calculated
to mis lead Indian. She was a student in Cambridge all right but not
of the University of Cambridge but of one of those fly by night
language schools where foreign student come to learn English. Sonia
was working as an `an pair' girl in Cambridge and trying to learn
English at the same time but failed in exams. rajeev and Antonia were failures was a coomon point of attraction between them.
And surprise of surprises, Rajiv was even
cremated as per vedic rites in full view of India's public. This is
the Nehru dynasty that India worships and now an Italian house maid made
madam by congress leads a
prestigious national party because of just one qualification being
married into the Nehru family

SHARIA LAWS FOR THE WHOLE WORLD

http://worldmonitor.wordpress.com/2009/02/18/sharia-for-world/
Pak 'sharia' chief wants Islamic law for entire world
ANI - Feb. 18, 2009

Lahore After inking a deal with the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) government for implementation of Islamic law in the Swat Valley, the Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Muhammad, has expressed his desire of implementation of a similar law over the whole world.

Expressing his hatred for people’s rule, Muhammad said Islam does not have any mention of democracy or elections.

“From the very beginning, I have viewed democracy as a system imposed on us by the infidels. Islam does not allow democracy or elections,”

'The Daily Times' quoted Muhammad, as saying.
He said that the continuous bloodbath in the region was due to the hesitant approach of different regimes in the country to accept the superiority of the Islamic law.

“Had the government accepted our demands in 1994, we would have not seen the violence we are seeing today,” he said.
Muhammad said the authorities should have held dialogues with the Taliban before initiating military action against them, as it would have resulted in less violent activities.

He hoped that the new accord signed with the government would help the Taliban in establishing a complete Islamic state.

“I believe the Taliban government formed a complete Islamic state, which was an ideal example for other Muslim countries. Had this government remained intact, it could have led to the establishment of similar Islamic governments in many other countries,” Muhammad said.

TALIBAN RADICALS SET TO WALK FREE FOLLOWING ‘SHARIA’ CAPITULATION

The inking of the so called ‘peace deal’ between the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) government and Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) would see several of the captured Talibani operatives walk free due to a ‘give and take’ policy being the cornerstone of the whole deal.

Talking to reporters here, NWFP Law Minister Arshad Abdullah said ‘general amnesty’ would be offered to the insurgents during the talks between Fazlullah led Taliban and Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) chief Sufi Mohammad.
“Amnesty to the Swat Taliban will be part of the peace talks between Sufi Mohammad and Fazlullah. Without amnesty Taliban would never agree for disarming in the region,” 'The Daily Times' quoted Abdullah, as saying.

Stressing on the immediate need of restoring peace in the troubled Swat Valley, Abdullah said the prime objective of the government was to ensure return of routine life in the region, and disarmament of the militants.
Replying to a question, he said that the NWFP government had first taken the army and Pakistan’s top spy agency while signing ‘sharia’ agreement with TNSM for implementation of peace in Malakand division.

This is nice - finding positive out of every negative - which we don't always manage to do.

I am thankful...

1. For the taxes that I pay because it means that I am employed.

2. For the mess to clean after a party because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.

3. For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.

4. For my shadow that watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.

5. For a floor that needs mopping, and windows that need cleaning because it means I have a home.

6. For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means that we have freedom of speech.

7. For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation.

8. For the noise I have to bear from my neighbours because it means that I can hear.

9. For the pile of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.

10. For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard.

11. For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I am still alive.

AND FINALLY ....... for received e-mails because it means I have friends who are thinking of me, at least.

A worried woman went to her Doctor and said : 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help!
My baby is not even 1 yr. old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kidsso close together.'

So the doctor said: 'Ok, and what do you want me to do?'

She said: 'I want you to perform an abortion, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it
doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!

'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be ok with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution. The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point.

He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

SEEK THE INNER CAUSE OF PROBLEMS

"When you arrive at your future, will you blame your past?" -- Robert Half

What holds you back from being and doing more? In your journal, list what you believe is holding you back.

Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself? It's important to understand that ALL problems are rooted inside us. Even the blocks that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back an issue we have inside that we have not yet owned. Once we address our inner issue, the outer situation no longer troubles us.

The buck always stops with us. We step into our power when we accept responsibility for our lives.

"The most self-destructive thought that any person can have is thinking that he or she is not in total control of his or her life. That's when, 'Why me?' becomes a theme song."

-- Roger Dawson

"...look at that word blame. It's just a coincidence that the last two letters spell the word me. But that coincidence is worth thinking about. Other people or unfortunate circumstances may have caused you to feel pain, but only you control whether you allow that pain to go on. If you want those feelings to go away, you have to say: 'It's up to me.'"

-- Arthur Freeman

"Don't make excuses -- make good."

-- Elbert Hubbard

Daily Guidance
from Eileen Caddy's book Opening Doors Within

Sunday 15th February 2009

The secret of making anything work is to want to make it work, and to be so positive about it that it could not possibly do otherwise. To tackle any difficult job in a half-hearted way does not call for success; but when it is tackled wholeheartedly and with a real desire to see it work, only the very best will come about. Let everything you undertake be undertaken wholeheartedly, form the very smallest and mundane job to the most difficult and complicated ones. Be willing to accept real challenges in life, and never be afraid of them. When they are faced in the right spirit and with the inner knowledge that it is I working in and through you who will help you to accomplish the task, anything can happen. Change your outlook, and you can open the door to an inflow of very positive and creative energies to your whole being. Realise you can change and change at great speed, but it is up to you.

Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man
of value. - Albert Einstein (1879-1955, German-born American Physicist)

"A person's worth is contingent upon who he is, not upon what he does, or how much he has. The worth of a person, or a thing, or an idea, is in being, not in doing, not in having." - Alice Mary Hilton

The true perfection of man lies, not in what man has, but in what
man is...Nothing should be able to harm a man but himself. Nothing
should be able to rob a man at all. What a man really has is what is in
him. What is outside of him should be a matter of no importance. - Oscar Wilde

THE WORLD IS GOING TO END SOON PREDICTION

FW: A MUST READ BY EVERY AMERICAN!
Posted by: "Ramesh Chitnis" rvchitnis@hotmail.com
Sun Feb 15, 2009 5:16 pm (PST)

A 'Must read' not only for Americans.True or not, all- the whole world, must prepare itself to heed the warning, in their respective spheres.'Once bitten, twice shy'!This 'EMERGENCY' must be added to the known emergencies like earthquakes, tornados, flooding, avalanches, fires, etc.------- ======= -------

Don't know how far this info is true but its an interesting
read. The point regarding having proper crisis plans in place is well
taken.

Juval Aviv was the
Israeli Agent upon whom the movie ' Munich ' was based. He was Golda Meir's
bodyguard -- she appointed him to track down and bring to justice the
Palestinian terrorists who took

the Israeli athletes
hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games.
In a lecture in New York City a few weeks ago, he shared information that
EVERY American needs to know -- but that our government has not yet shared with
us. He predicted the London subway bombing on the Bill
O'Reilly show on Fox News stating publicly that it would happen within a week.
At the time, O'Reilly laughed and mocked him saying that in a week he wanted him
back on the show. But, unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack had
occurred.
Juval Aviv gave
intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East ) to the
Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. His report
specifically said they would use planes as bombs and target high profile
buildings and monuments. Congress has since hired him as a security consultant.

Now for his future predictions. He predicts the next terrorist attack on the
U.S. will occur within the next few months.

Forget hijacking airplanes, because he says terrorists will NEVER try and
hijack a plane again as they know the people onboard will never go down quietly
again. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke -- that we have been
reactionary rather than proactive in developing strategies that are truly
effective. For example:
1) Our airport technology is outdated. We look for
metal, and the new explosives are made of plastic. 2)
He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire. Because of that,
now everyone has to take off their shoes. A group of idiots tried to bring
aboard liquid explosives. Now we can't bring liquids on board. He says he's
waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; at
which point, security will have us all traveling naked! Every strategy we have
is 'reactionary.'
3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the
gates. Aviv says that if a terrorist attack
targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of
the airport when/where people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to
take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person
next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or
get a drink, and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In
Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the
airport.
Aviv says the next
terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers
and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate. (i.
e., Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, big cities (New York, San Francisco, Chicago,
etc.) and that it will also include shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train
stations, etc., as well as rural America this time (Wyoming, Montana, etc.).
The attack will be characterized by simultaneous
detonations around the country (terrorists like big impact), involving at least
5-8 cities, including rural
areas.
Aviv says terrorists won't need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger
cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas , they can simply
valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.
Aviv says all of the
above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U. S. government does
not want to 'alarm American citizens' with the facts.
The world is quickly
going to become 'a different place', and issues like 'global warming' and
political correctness will become totally irrelevant.
On an encouraging note, he says that Americans don't have to be concerned
about being nuked. Aviv says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not
use sophisticated weapons. They like to use suicide as a front-line approach.
It's cheap, it's easy, it's effective; and they have an infinite abundance of
young militants more than willing to 'meet their
destiny'.
He also says the next level of terrorists, over which
America should be most concerned, will not be coming from abroad. But will be,
instead, 'homegrown' -- having attended and been educated in our own schools and
universities right here in the U. S. He says to look for 'students' who
frequently travel back and forth to the Middle East . These young terrorists
will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully
understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won't know/understand
a thing about them. Aviv says
that, as a people, Americans are unaware and uneducated about the terroristic
threats we will, inevitably, face. America still has only have a handful of
Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks, and Aviv says it
is critical that we change that fact SOON.
So, what can America
do to protect itself?
From an intelligence
perspective, Aviv says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and
technology for intelligence. We need to, instead, follow Israel 's, Ireland 's
and England 's hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an
infiltration perspective as well as to trust 'aware' citizens to help. We need
to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U. S. government
continues to treat us, its citizens, 'like babies'. Our government thinks we
'can't handle the truth' and are concerned that we'll panic if we understand the
realities of terrorism. Aviv says this is a deadly mistake.
Aviv recently created/executed a security test for
our Congress, by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five
major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to
check it out. In fact, in Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!

In comparison, Aviv
says that citizens of Israel are so well 'trained' that an unattended bag or
package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout,
'Unattended Bag!' The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens
themselves. But, unfortunately, America hasn't been yet 'hurt enough' by
terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its
citizens or for the government to understand that it's their citizens who are,
inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism.
Aviv also was
concerned about the high number of children here in America who were in
preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, who were 'lost' without parents being
able to pick them up, and about ours schools that had no plan in place to best
care for the students until parents could get there. (In New York City , this
was days, in some
cases!)

He stresses the
importance of having a plan, that's agreed upon within your family, to respond
to in the event of a terroristic emergency. He urges parents to contact their
children's schools and demand that the schools, too, develop plans of actions,
as they do in Israel
.
Does your family know what to do if you can't contact
one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency? He says we should
all have a plan that is easy enough for even our youngest children to remember
and follow. Aviv says that the U. S. government
has in force a plan that, in the event of another terrorist attack, will
immediately cut-off EVERYONE's ability to use cell phones, blackberries, etc.,
as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often
the way that their bombs are
detonated.
How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you cannot speak?
You need to have a plan.
