WASHINGTON: There was an air of inevitability as yet another precocious middle-schooler of Indian origin won the US National Spelling Bee

championship for 2009 on Thursday night, extending a decade long run in which Indian-Americans kids have won the title seven times out of ten.

Kavya Shivshankar of Olethe, Kansas, effortlessly spelt the word Laodicean -- which means indifferent or lukewarm especially in matters of religion -- to claim the title after her only remaining American opponent Tim Ruiter flubbed Maecenas, which means a generous benefactor.

Indians aren’t Laodicean in the usual sense. In fact, when it comes to spelling bee championship especially, they have made it a rite -- or write -- of passage. To the point of being devout.

Some eleven million American schoolkids participated in the National Spelling Bee championships this year, and when the final 293 made the cut to Washington DC (which hosts the grand finale) this weekend, there were 32 kids of Indian origin. It was the usual 10-15 per cent, which is handsomely disproportionate to the Indian-American population in the US, which at around 2 million is less than one per cent.

There were 14 ‘desi’ kids in the 41 who made the semi-final round in Washington DC (telecast on ESPN), and six among the 11 who made the final rounds (telecast on ABC network on prime time 8 pm to 10.30 pm). When that was whittled down to three by bedtime when many kids were nodding off, one lone American boy was up against two Indian-American girls -- Kavya, and Aishwarya Pastapur from Springfield, Illinois, who exited soon after when she made a meal of 'menhir.'

Kavya, who had finished fourth last year, lived up to her billing as a hot favourite this year. Seemingly encyclopaedic in her knowledge of words, she wore down the final eleven, cracking words such as ergasia, escritoire, hydrargyrum, blancmange, baignoire, huisache, ecossaise, diacoele, bouquiniste, isagoge, and phoresy. Yeah, don’t even try.

Kavya’s victory means back-to-back titles for Indian-American kids after Sameer Mishra took the title last year. Previous winners in this last decade include Nupur Lala (1999), George Thampy (2000), Pratyush Buddiga (2002), Sai Gunturi (2003), Anurag Kashyap (2005) and Sameer Mishra (2008). Chicagoan Balu Natarajan was the first Indian-American to win the title in 1985, followed by Rageshree Ramachandran in 1987.

Why Indian-American kids have begun to dominate Spelling Bee (and its companion event the Geographic Bee) isn’t a mystery anymore. Parental and peer pressure and inspiration have resulted in almost every Indian household pushing their kids into nationwide competitions in every sphere of school life, not just spelling competitions. The results show up in many school-level academic competitions.

A Wall Street Journal story in 2003 that was headlined ''Why Johnny Can't Add But Suresh Venkatsubramanian Can'' gave birth to the joke that ''if your name is Venkatsubramanian you can pretty much spell anything.'' Of course, it does not account for why Polish kids don’t do as well; there's a small matter of English language legacy too.

What’s undeniable is that with the passage of time, the Spelling Bee championship itself has taken a new aura, with big time prize money (Kavya picked up $40,000 in cash and prizes and will most likely breeze through college on scholarships that could amount to as much as $100,000) and wall-to-wall media coverage.

Kavya’s role model in this regard is Nupur Lala, the 1999 winner who became somewhat of a media darling and went on to feature in a documentary called Spellbound on the Spelling Bee event. Lala is now a researcher at MIT. Kavya wants to be a neurosurgeon.
On Thursday night, the Grand Hyatt auditorium where the finale took place had all the glitz and drama of Roland Garros or Wimbledon, with excited anchors whispering between hushed suspense, expert commentary, cut-outs, commercials, and profiles of the hottest spelling stars.

In one profile cut out, Aishwarya Pastipur introduced her grandmother, who had come from India to see her grand-daughter participate. In the audience was Dr Jill Biden, vice-president Joe Biden’s wife and a past state spelling champion.

Kavya’s world will be a whirl for the next 48 hours as she will be rushed from studio to studio for interviews, starting with an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday morning. Across America, many Indian parents will be sitting their kids across the study table to prepare for Spelling Bee 2010.

Namaskar and Jai Hind. Mahoday, why do your forget that majority of middle or higher class Hindus NEVER GO TO VOTE; they just take a holiday and wait for election results. Sir, is it not true. 90 to one hundred percent of the Mslems and Dalits and christians vote and it is on their vote thatCongress always wins.

Mahoday, what are you going to do about it. When Hindus will start behaving responsibly and cast their VOTE and all the Mahtmas and gurus etc. etc. Did they vote? Do they vote. Also see Bharat Gajjar's article on the subject.

How you are going to overcome this disease in the Hindus in addition to severalother shortcomings in the BJP itself? Do you have a cure for it? If not, Congress will always win!

Jai Ramjiki.

BJP’S FAILURE: An Unbiased Observation

Dr Radhasyam Brahmachari

While BJP was in Power:
Before analyzing the defeat of BJP in the present Lok Sabha election, it is
necessary to have a look how the Party came to power in 1999 with 183 MPs.
One may recall that in the Lok Sabha elections held in 1998 the BJP led

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) obtained a simple majority. This time,

the BJP had allied with the AIADMK and the Biju Janata Dal besides its
existing allies, the Samata Party, the Shiromani Akali Dal and Shiv Sena.
Outside support was provided by the Telugu Desam Party. The NDA had a slim
majority, and Vajpayee returned as Prime Minister. But the coalition
ruptured in May 1999 when the leader of AIADMK, Jayalalitha, withdrew her
support, and fresh elections were again called in October, 1999. Within this

brief period, BJP did two remarkable jobs that made it popular across the country. Firstly, it conducted the testing of the nuclear device at Pokhran and secondly, it fought the Kargil war with Pakistan in May-July, 1999.
These two achievements were hailed by the entire population who discovered a courageous fighter in BJP, capable of protecting the sovereignty and freedom of the nation and thrashing the rogue enemy state Pakistan . The people of this country gave BJP a hero’s welcome and, as a consequence, in the Lok Sabha election held on October 13, 1999, the BJP-led NDA won 303 seats. The BJP won an all-time high of 183 seats. Vajpayee became Prime Minister for the third time in his life, and Advani became the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
But the said image of BJP was considerably shattered when the NDA government shamefully submitted to the unjust demands of the Pakistani terrorists after the hijacking of the Indian Airlines plane, Flight no. 814 on December 24, 1999, and released three dreaded terrorists, most undemocratic way, from the Kashmir jail and one cabinet minister went to Kandahar, by a special plane, with those three terrorists and rupees 900 crores and a planeload of high explosive (to be used against India),.as ransom But after the hijacking drama, it would have been proper for the NDA government to order our army to cross the border of Afghanistan and our air force to bomb Kabul and Kandahar. And thus force the terrorists to release 174 passangers and 15 crew members of the hijacked plane. In this context, one may recall how the Russian government dealt with the Chechen terrorists who seized a school in Beslan in 2004.
On December 13, 2001, five terrorists attacked the Parliament House (Sansad Bhawan) in Delhi . It was due to the prompt and brave action of our security forces, six of whom sacrificed their lives, the lives of a few hundred of our MPs were saved. After this incident many of our commentators described it as a rape of our Parliament, or rather a rape of our democracy. Our military top brass advised the government to take immediate military action against Pakistan and hence to teach a good lesson to that rogue state. Some of our top army personnel commented that we had enough of talks, and time had arrived to act. So an army mobilization was ordered and our troops, with their modern sophisticated weapons were dispatched to the Indo-Pak border and were waiting for final signal from our leaders to cross the border. Our troops were waiting for months after months, but the NDA government failed to gather sufficient courage to give that final signal. Ultimately troops were withdrawn wasting nearly three thousand crores of rupees, as the cost of mobilization and wear and tear of the sophisticated weapons. It is important to note that, had the NDA government conducted the military operation against Pakistan and taught that rogue state a good lesson, the people of this country would have given a hero’s welcome to BJP for the second time and they would have voted BJP to victory in the 2004 Lok Sabha election.

On April 21, 2001, Bangladesh Rifles abducted 15 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel into Bangladesh . They subsequently butchered all the 15 BSF men and carried their mutilated bodies like carcass of animals to return the dead bodies in an extremely humiliating manner. As a cover up of that criminal act by the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), the government of Bangladesh said that our BSF men illegally crossed the Bangladeshi border and hence BDR captured and killed them. It is to be noted here that, even if it is admitted that the BSF men had entered Bangladesh illegally, it was proper for BDR arrest them and produce them in the court of law. In any case, they could not have killed them.

The most justified reply of the NDA government to this heinous crime was to give order to our army to cross the border of Bangladesh and march towards Dhaka . But our leaders, for the lack sufficient courage or for the sake of its newly adopted policy of Muslim appeasement, failed to take military action against even a small and weak nation like Bangladesh . On the contrary, they supported the claim of the government of Bangladesh that our forces had done a wrong and by entering Bangladesh without any provocation. Our PM sent his personal secretary Brojesh Misra to Dhaka to beg pardon on behalf of the Indian Government for the so called offence committed by our BSF personnel.

It is needless to say that all the above mentioned cowardice acts have completely shattered the image BJP had built up by fighting the Kargil War and testing nuclear device at Pokhran. And there is no doubt that this loss of image had played a major role in its defeat in 2004 Lok Sabha election.

The Hindu Nationalist Party Turned Secular:

We should now have a look on the other activities of the NDA government during its tenure that lasted for 6 years. As a matter of fact, the BJP is a direct successor of The Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS), founded in 1951 by Dr Syama Prasad Mookherjee and it was considered the political wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). After the murder of Dr Mookherjee in custody in 1953, the BJS lasted for 24 more years, but never seriously challenged the power of Indian National Congress It is well known that in 1980, a group of top leaders of BJS, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani, formed the new party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS duly recognized this new party as its political organ. So, it is not difficult to understand that “Hindutva” was the fundamental basis of BJP and its ultimate goal was to make India a “Hindu Rastra”.

So, before the Lok Sabha elections in 1998 and 1999, the BJP declared the followings as its professed goals. :
No special treatment for any religious group or BJP would never resort to appease the Muslims for securing their votes.
The Repeal of Article 370 of the Constitution, which prevents non-Kashmiris, including Hindus who have fled the area due to increasing terrorism, from owning property in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Promulgation of a Uniform Common Civil Code, which create only one personal and civil law code for Hindus, Muslims and Christians.
A Ban on Cow Slaughter, to honor the Hindu tradition of not consuming the flesh of cow, and prohibiting the consumption of beef.
A Complete Ban on Religious Conversions
The Construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya,.
To achieve the full territorial and political integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Presently over 40% of the territory is under the control of Pakistan and China.
Identification of Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrators and send them back to Bangladesh and at the same time taking proper steps to stop infiltration of Bangladeshi Muslims to West Bengal..
Rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pundits, who have been evicted from their home land Kashmir and living as refugees in the refugee camps in Delhi .
But after assuming power, the NDA government did not take any initiative to implement any of the above promises. On the contrary, during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir , the Prime Minister Sri Vajpayee assured the Kashmiri Muslims that, so long he is the Prime Minister, the Article 370 would continue. During election campaign BJP promised that it would never indulge in appeasement of the Muslims. But after assuming power, NDA government increased Hajj subsidy for the Muslims and hiked the salary of the imams. Previously the Muslims pilgrims intending to go to Mecca to perform Hajj, had to travel to Mumbai and from Mumbai they used to fly to Jeddah at subsidized rate. But the NDA government arranged flights from all the major cities of India to Mecca and built rest houses, specially for the Hajj pilgrims, in all the major cities of the country.
While it was expected that the NDA government, after assuming power, would strive hard to implement the above mentioned national agenda and hence to consolidate Hindu votes, but on the contrary, it displayed a strong inclination to acquire Muslim votes by appeasement of the Muslims. They floated the idea that all Muslims are not anti-nationals and there also exists a large group of good as well as nationalist Muslims, who are to be brought under the banner of BJP. Which was as ridiculous and bogus as saying, “All cobras are not bad and there are good cobras as well.” On the basis of this newly invented ridiculous, baseless and bogus ideology, they started to appease the Muslims in a big way, especially in 2000-2001, when Bangaru Laxman became the president of the Party. It is needless to say that from this time onwards, the Hindus started not only to reject, but to hate BJP and its leaders.
As mentioned above, prior to the 1999 election, BJP promised to identify every Bangladeshi Muslim infiltrator and send them back to Bangladesh . But after assuming power, the NDA government, according to their newly adopted policy of Muslim appeasement, took no step in this direction. On the contrary, it adopted a serious anti Hindu step in this context. Previously, the Hindus who, being persecuted by the Muslims, were coming to India from Bangladesh were treated as refugees. But NDA government deprived the Hindus from this facility (which is the standing policy of the UN) and started to treat the Hindus as infiltrators, like the Muslims. In one incident, a Hindu housewife, to save her life from the Muslim goons of Bangladesh , was crossing the border by swimming a canal and the Indian security forces gunned her down. Due to this step-motherly attitude of the NDA government towards the Bangladeshi Hindus, lakhs of Bangladeshi Hindus are still not getting refugee status and hence any assistance from either the state or the Central government.
Another important promise made by BJP was implementation of the uniform civil code for all the citizens on India , irrespective of religion or other differences. In this context, it is important to note that, a verdict of the Supreme Court in mid-2003 upheld the necessity of enforcing ‘common civil code’ in India , which could liberate India 's Muslim women from the shameful gender discrimination like polygamy and oral divorce. But the NDA government, in tune with its new policy of Muslim appeasement, did not take any initiative in this direction, because such a step would have displeased the orthodox Muslim clerics.
Most importantly, the NDA government remained not only silent regarding the construction of temple at Ayodhya, but opposed any attempt or any movement for temple construction. During its tenure Vishwa Hindu Parishad gave a call for a demonstration of the activists at Ayodhya. But to frustrate the effort, NDA government promulgated an ordinance so that police can arrest anyone found to purchase a railway ticket for Ayodhya anywhere in the country. In Kolkata, many VHP workers were arrested and put into police custody, while they were found to purchase railway ticket for Ayodhya at Howrah and Sealdah railway stations. It is really surprising that the NDA government took such step against the people who voted it to power.
When the author of this article asked a BJP leader about this affair, he said that most of the allies of the NDA are secular minded and hence if the government wanted to move forward any issue concerning the Hindus, they would withdraw their support leading to a fall of the NDA government. The question naturally arises – Did the Hindus voted BJP to rule for a full term at the sacrifice of the Hindutva issues? The leaders of BJP failed to understand that, had the government fallen due to an initiative of the BJP to fulfill its pre-election promises, the Hindus would have voted BJP again, perhaps more profusely, and help form the government. But our leaders preferred to remain in power at the sacrifice of its pre-poll promises and thus earned distrust of the Hindus. Many Hindus began to call BJP as “Biswasghatak Janata Party”.
Thus, without caring for the sentiment of the electorate, who voted it to power, BJP or the NDA government dumped all its nationalist agenda into the cold storage and at the fag end of its tenure started to build roads, as if the voters had voted it to power for making roads. Prime Minister Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was, perhaps, confident that the said road building and the economic reforms he had undertaken, would return him to power again. But the poll results 2004 election reflected that he was wrong. He learned the bitter lesson that the Hindu voters did not make him the Prime Minister of India for making roads and bringing economic reforms.
During the 5 year period from 2004 to 2009, BJP has left no stone unturned to expose itself a truly secular party through complete renunciation of its Hindu identity. Its leaders failed to grasp that it drew strength and status from Hindu society alone and it was the Hindus who voted it to power. They failed to learn a lesson from the debacle of 2004 election. So, in stead of Hindutva agenda, they depended on good governance and development to win the 2009 election and kept silence about the most cherished Hindu issues like temple building in Ayodhya, scrapping of Article 370, enforcement of common civil code and so on.

Projecting L K Advani as the Prime Ministerial Candidate:

In this election, the leaders of BJP, without giving much thought, projected elderly Sri L K Advani as its Prime Ministerial candidate, whom a section of the Hindus have identified as a traitor quite a long ago. Sri Advani is the man who, after the demolition of the old temple at Ayodhya on 6th December, 1992, said that it was the most tragic day in his life. Not only that, “Mr. Advani took the demolition of the contentious structure as a personal slight (he had promised the Supreme Court nothing would happen), and without any discussion with senior party colleagues present there, especially then party president Murli Manohar Joshi, resigned his post as Leader of the Opposition by faxing his resignation to the Lok Sabha Speaker and releasing the information to the press. The party was faced with an uncomfortable fait accompli”, writes Mrs Sandhya Jain in her recent article L K Advani: From History to Oblivion.
On 4th June, 2007, when Advani was visiting the mausoleum of M A Jinnah in Karachi , Pakistan , said that Jinnah was a great man and he was secular leader. When I asked a BJP leader of West Bengal , about that contentious comment of Advani, to my utmost astonishment, he supported Advani and said, “Advaniji was right. In fact, Jinnah was a staunch secular leader at the beginning of his political career. But later on Gandhi and Nehru spoiled him.” If this was the BJP-way of looking at things, who would rescue it from its imminent downfall?
Nearly 7-8 years ago, when NDA was in power, Advani said that the day of idealism is over, now the day is of new ideas. Or indirectly, he made it clear that BJP would no longer follow the Hindutva ideology as propagated by its parent organization RSS. Or the ideology which had been identified by Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurovindo, Dr Hedgewar and Guruji Gowalkar as the sole path for the revival of this Hindu nation. All such utterances of Advani makes one to convince that Sri Advani and his coterie have dragged BJP, originally a political party of distinction with the aim for achieving a noble and lofty goal, down to an ordinary political party of petty and conspiratorial politics.
As a result, Hindus lost faith in BJP and its staunch supporters, on their poll-day, remained indoor and enjoyed a holiday. Only 25 per cent of the Hindu electorates turned up at the polling booths to exercise their democratic right and BJP suffered the obvious setback. Only God knows how many years it will take to recover this setback and get back the confidence of the Hindus again.

It Is Difficult To Defeat Congress

It is difficult to defeat congress if Hindus refuse to vote. The statistics say 84% of the Indian population is Hindu and only 20% of them voted in the last election. In India there is a 13% Muslim population and 90% of them voted in the election. Out of the 3% Christian population, 90% voted. The Dalit Hindus also voted for congress but I do not have the statistics on them. In any case, if Hindus don’t go out and vote for BJP, it is difficult for BJP to win.

If BJP wants to win in the next election in 2014, they have to have a creative solution to this problem. The following are some ideas that I have:

1. In the USA the parties have a “Get out and vote campaign.” This will help a great deal. BJP should do this utilizing different modalities of media.
2. BJP should start a voting club where members promise to vote in the next election.
3. BJP lost because Rajasthan, Delhi, Andra Pradesh, Kerla and West Bengal voted for the Congress Party. Now BJP has to make themselves stronger in those states.
4. BJP should not worry about Muslims and Christians but make Hindus into a stronger party. Muslims and Christians are not going to vote for them, so it is useless to believe that they will. They should focus on Hindus and strengthen their own party if they want to win.
5. India should have only a two party system if they want to have a good strong government. People should stop voting for the small independent parties.
6. 80% of the news media is in the hands of foreigners and Christians. BJP needs to start a Hindu TV channel or news media to have their voice heard.

Hindus are seeing democracy as their birthright and for taking it for granted. They do not value their freedom; this is the reason they do not bother to vote. They do not understand that Congress is Anti-Hindu and is promoting Islam and Christianity. This will do great damage to India. Hindus need to wake up from their laziness and delusions that everything will be just fine.

In Pakistan there was a 20% Hindu population, which were kicked out, now there is a 1% Hindu population left. In Bangladesh the 40% Hindu population has been reduced to 10%. The statistics say that in fifty years Muslims will be the majority in India. They do not believe in living with anybody else. When they become the majority and kick out all the Hindus, where are they going to go? Nobody wants Hindus in their country. Please understand that in this world there is no place for the weak, only the strong survive. The weak and stupid must die. I hope Hindus wake up and take charge of their lives and destiny. I hope they don’t continue to depend on a foreign, white, catholic woman to take care of them.

Police Body Language..!
In a daring daylight robbery this week, four burglars struck at the Air India cargo complex adjacent to the Mumbai domestic airport and escaped with 145 kg of gold and silver coins totally worth about Rs 56 lakhs!

Below the news item is a picture of the police leaving for the scene of the crime. Just look at the picture; at their body language, there isn’t the slightest urgency in their movements; you’d think after a crime of this magnitude right there inside the airport, you’d have cops running, guns blazing, jeep engines roaring, a chase and a shootout, with men rushing to intercept the robbers.

Nothing of that sort; what is rather interesting however is what the police inspector is carrying in his hand as he leaves the police station; not a gun, nor a lathi, but a file, a note pad and his ready pen; no guns to attack but hands ready to make a report.

His movements are like that of any other government employee on his way for an outdoor assignment, not too happy to leaves the confines of a cool office, but moving out nevertheless with the thought of making a quick buck then heading straight home for a snooze.

But hush, this is no ordinary government employee; this is a policeman, someone who’s been trained to guard the citizens of his country and their possessions.

His body language speaks otherwise.

Just imagine the scene at that police station when someone rang them up to say the airport is being burgled: “Police! Police! Is that the police?”
“Arrey jhor say bath karo!”

“Police! Police the airport is being robbed!”

“Louder speak you!”

“The airport is being robbed!”

“Why you are shouting, say once again I am writing it down, which airport?”

“How many airports are there Mumbai?”

“You are fighting with me? I am putting down the phone!”

“Police armed robbers are robbing the airport!”

“Yes armed!”

“Have they gone?”

“Not yet, but if you will come quickly…”
“Have they gone?”

“Not yet, but they have started their car, come quickly!”

“Have they gone?”

“Yes they are getting away! Will you come now?”

“Now I will inform my superior and we will come and make a report, do not go away, we need to question you and will also have to take you into police custody!”

“Police custody? Me?”

“Don’t shout, otherwise we will use third degree on you, now put your hands up on the telephone and wait for us! We will be there in half an hour after we eat our khanna..!”

Don’t blame me for writing this; anybody looking at the picture of that cop strolling out to catch the Mumbai Airport robbers would have imagined the scene I’ve just portrayed.!

New Union cabinet has many young faces but mostly from dominating political families. If present trend of dynastic politics continues where next-Gen youth from traditional political families get preference for keeping family-flag high in Indian politics, then time may not be far when Indian politics may get revolving around some few hundred Indian political families. Talent of Indian youth presently available to administer private sector, can and should be best utilised to generate New-Gen Indian politics.

New young politicians have a sizable share from families of aged professional politicians, which even put national interest at stake like DMK Chief K Karunanidihi desired all his heirs from three different wives to get ministerial posts in Union Cabinet. Real youth will be represented in the Parliament only by having an upper-age limit of say 70 years to be in legislature. It is regretting that physically and mentally retired persons like K Karunanidhi, Arjun Singh kept dominating political scene by being on responsible posts despite poor health and memory pushing their children to run their families’ political shops! It was indeed pity for India that an aged Atal Bihari Vajpayee was continued as country’s Prime Minister despite weakened memory-cells to an extent that he could not recall name of his minister standing next to him! If persons in all other sectors like in bureaucracy and judiciary have a retirement-age, why retirement-age is not fixed for legislature?

Fw: White People Are More Intelligent Than Indians

Bharat J. Gajjar Mon, May 25, 2009 at 7:05 AM

The white woman and India

May 20, 2004

The spectacle on the night of May 18, of all these Congress leaders,
many of them intelligent men and women, debasing themselves in front
of Sonia Gandhi, pleading with her to lead the country, made me feel
sick. If Sonia had any dignity, she would have stopped it, but she
just listened, with a slightly bored expression, right till the last
Congressman and woman had wallowed in dirt before her.

And again I asked myself the question which has baffled me for 35
years, although I am myself a white man and a born Christian: why do
Indians have such an attraction towards the white skin?

After reading the newspapers on Wednesday morning and seeing how
newspapers such as The Times of India still root for Sonia Gandhi,
with columnists such as Dileep Padgaonkar saying that her becoming
prime minister would be in tune 'with the highest Vedantic ideals,' I
wonder: does India, one of the most ancient civilizations on the
planet, need a white woman to govern her?

I am sure Sonia has great qualities, but are Indians so dumb, stupid
and backward, that they cannot find among themselves someone
intelligent enough, non-corrupt enough, to lead them? And what about
this craze for Mother Teresa? She may have been a saint, but nobody
has harmed India's image in the 20th century so much: when you say
India in the West, their eyes light up and they answer: 'Mother
Teresa/ Kolkata/ poor people/ dumb people/ starving people/ who do not
know how to care after their own underprivileged/ who need a white
woman to show them how to pick up the dying from the streets/ to look
after orphans'!

Is this the image Indians want today? An image that is harming them,
which is stopping Western investors from investing in India? Yet,
Mother Teresa is worshipped here, from Kolkata to Chennai, from Delhi
to Bangalore, and when she will be made a saint by the Vatican,
perpetuating this colonial, superior-minded, Christian symbol of white
superiority over the brown/black man, all the Indian media will
rejoice in its own mental slavery and the Indian government will
probably declare a national holiday!

Why don't Indians understand that brown is beautiful? White people
spend hours on the beach and put on a hundred creams to get tanned.
And in winter they even artificially lie under infrared lamps in
beauty parlors to get brown! Why this obsession for the Indian woman
to have white skin?

How come the two most popular actors in India have fair skin and
nearly blue eyes? Why this craze for 'fair' brides? If you find the
answers to these, you will understand why the fatal attraction for
Sonia Gandhi and Mother Teresa.

Obviously, colonisation has frozen the Indian mind in certain patterns
and the British made sure, through Macaulay's policies, of leaving
behind an enduring inferiority complex among Indians, by constantly
harping on the flaws of Indian culture and inflating them. That is why
today Indian intellectuals repeat like parrots what their masters had
said before them: 'Hindus are fundamentalists/Brahmins are
exploiters/Gowalkar was a Nazi/Indians are corrupt and no good.'

But that does not explain everything: most colonised countries have
aped their masters after having hated them. No, in my mind the
greatest factor behind India's love for the white is the absurd theory
of Aryan invasion

According to this theory, which was actually devised in the 18th and
19th centuries by British linguists and archaeologists, the first
inhabitants of India were good-natured, peaceful, dark-skinned
shepherds called the Dravidians, who had founded what is called the
Harappan or the Indus Valley civilisation. They were supposedly
remarkable builders, witness the city of Mohenjo Daro in Pakistani
Sind, but had no culture to speak of, no literature, no proper script
even. Then, around 1500 BC, India is said to have been invaded by
tribes called the Aryans: white-skinned, nomadic people, who
originated somewhere in western Russia and imposed upon the Dravidians
the hateful caste system. To Aryans is attributed Sanskrit, the Vedic
or Hindu religion, India's greatest spiritual texts, the Vedas, as
well as a host of subsequent writings, the Upanishads, the Mahabharat,
the Ramayan, etc.

This was indeed a masterstroke on the part of the British: thanks to
the Aryan theory, they showed on the one hand that Indian civilisation
was not that ancient and that it was posterior to the cultures which
influenced the Western world -- Mesopotamia, Sumeria, and Babylon --
and that whatever good things India had developed -- Sanskrit,
literature, or even its architecture -- had been influenced by the

Thus, Sanskrit, instead of being the mother of all Indo-European
languages, became just a branch of their huge family; thus, the
religion of Zarathustra is said to have influenced Hinduism, and not
vice versa. On the other hand, it divided India and pitted against
each other the low caste, dark-skinned Dravidians and the high caste,
light-skinned Aryans, a rift which is still enduring. Yet, most recent
archaeological and linguistic discoveries point out that there never
was an Aryan invasion and many historians, including the malevolent
Romila Thapar, are distancing themselves from it. Yet, most Indians
still believe in this absurd theory.

Wake up O Indians: you are as great, if not greater than the white
man. You can do as well, if not better than the white man. Not only
did your forefathers devise some of the basic principles of
mathematics, astrology, and surgical medicine, not only are your
people among the most brilliant in the world today -- half of Silicon
Valley is of Indian origin, 30 percent of the United Kingdom's doctors
are Indians -- but you still hold within yourselves a unique spiritual
knowledge, which once roamed the world but which has now disappeared,
replaced by the intolerant creed of the two major monotheistic
religions which say: 'if you don't believe in my true God, I will
either kill you or convert you'.

Wake up India, brown is beautiful, smart and it is the future. Dr
Manmohan Singh, whatever has to be said about the Congress, you have
partly redeemed India's pride, and our good wishes are with you.

Master Bhombal Basu from a remote rural Purulia area was transferred to a school in Kolkata St. Paul's School. He reported for duty two days before August 15 and, as was the practice in the school, was asked to address the assembly on Independence Day.

Master Bhombolbabu
: Leddies and Gentulmens, Contemporaries, Children, and Good for nothing staff and Principalbabu...

"This is my first maiden speech. If small small mistakes get inside my speech, I ask pardon. Stickly speaking, I wanted to joint your school more fastly, but for the following valuable reason.

Too much time lost in getting slipper reservation in three-tyre compartment.
The Bihari clerk rejected to give ticket. I put complaint on station master. He said me to go to lady clerk. At first she also rejected. I then pressed her for long time and at last with great difficulty she gave a birth only to my son. Anyway I thanked the station master because he was responsible for getting birth of my son.

We got independent because of great leaders linke Gandhiji who get-outted all angrezi peoples from India. Made them eat salt of Dandee and angered Subash Chandra Bose - to Battle of Manipur lost and found case that is to say no one is sure till now if Bose is Dead or alive!!!!

Tilak said Swaraj is our birth-rate and we shall halve it. Today we all halve our birth-rate. Not applicable to our Muslim Bhaisahebs..

You children are future dynamic generators of the Nation. Look into future time only. No backside looking, or looking at your behind. Be like great like X' raj Ranjan of Germany or Presidents like Loosebelt. Or Abrahim Leencon

You know genius, no? It is one par cent perspiration and ninety seven percent evaporation. They became great by reading great books. After we finish you here in the school, you can go to college and get B.A., M.A. and other decrease. Or join shady dark business for quick money. Then you can become great liars in the supreme courts, shattered accountants, or leacherers in college.Bata Or Tata Birla Or Dawoodbahia

The school is like a garden. You are the seeds, school is the soil. We will bury you in this soil, pour water of knowledge on your heads and one day will become great phools. Many vacancy job come in newspapers. Only yesterday I saw in paper "Wanted for refuted engineering firm: Generators, highpower condensors" so and so forth, etc. These jobs may be teknickel, but you can rise. If you have flare in English, you can become teacher.

Carry Your Dreams With You..!
How often we see people who’ve grown old; eyes filled with misery, their body language that of a listless person, their gestures hopeless! What happened? We ask silently. Where did things start going wrong? Didn’t you have dreams like others when you were young? What happened to those dreams?

Here’s a little illustration I’m going to use today:

There were once 2 brothers who lived on the 80th floor. On coming back to their building one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and they’d have to climb the stairs up.
After struggling to the 20th floor, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags there and climbed on. When they have struggled to the 40th level, the younger brother started to grumble and both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of steps, quarreling all the way to the 60th floor.
They then realized that they have only 20 floors more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently walked up and reached their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open the door.
And then to their horror they realized that the key was in their bags which they’d left behind on the 20th floor
This little story reflects what happens in some of our lives, doesn’t it?

Many of us when young dream big dreams, but like others, live also under the constant expectations of parents, teachers and friends. This pressure starts building up, and some of us instead of holding onto our aspirations, start listening only to the expectations of others and throw away what we imagine we want and follow what others expect of us. So around the age of 20 we get tired and decide to dump our dreams.
Being free of that stress and pressure and having youthful energy on our side we work enthusiastically and try to be ambitious in what we are doing.
But by the time we reach 40 years old, we realize that just ambition by itself cannot keep us going. We begin to feel dissatisfied and start to complain and criticize. We live life with misery, as we are never satisfied.

Reaching 60, we realize we have little left for complaining anymore, and try to walk the final years of our life in peace and calmness imagining there is nothing left to disappoint us, only to realize that we cannot be at peace with ourselves because there are unfulfilled dreams which we’ve left behind, dreams we abandoned 60 years ago.

Those dreams haunt us; maybe you see a writer and wonder why you’re a businessman when you once dreamt of writing or wanted to be an actress and now a housewife.

So here’s some advice: Don’t wait to reach the eightieth floor before finding out you’ve left your keys behind: Whatever age you are, whichever floor you are on, stop, feel your pocket and if your dreams aren’t with you, retrieve them, and start all over again!

Then when you reach 80, you’ll smile and tell all around as you jangle the keys in your bag, “I carried my dreams with me..!”

Temiraja Jataka
Perfection of Renunciation
Wat Navaram Home Buddhism Home Buddha's Ten Birth Stories Home

Temiraja was the son of King Kasika of the Kingdom of Paranasi. When he was one month old, while his father was holding him, he gave orders to punish a thief very harshly. He got scared because he had seen that his father was using his power to commit a serious misdeed and after he died he would go to hell.

He recalled that in the past he himself had been King of Paranasi for 20 years. He had been in Ussut Hell for 80,000 years. He then tried to find a way not to become a king in his present life. He stopped moving and would just sleep on his bed as if he were a cripple, and pretended that he was deaf. He would not cry when he was hungry or when he was hurting. When he reached the age of 16, his father could not accept this situation any more.

The King's adviser predicted that he would run into misfortune so the King ordered Sunan Sarathi to prepare a horse drawn carriage to take his son to bury him in the cemetery. While Sunan Sarathi was digging a hole to bury Temiraja, the latter got off the carriage in order to exercise his body, which had remained immobile for 16 years, and he lifted the carriage up the air and swung it over his head.

Later, Temiraja delivered a sermon to Sunan Sarathi about not harming friends. Sunan Sarathi believed him and returned to the King to tell him.

The King then came with the Queen to see Temiraja who had become a monk in the forest. He delivered a sermon to the King and Queen and they gave up their throne: both became monks together with all of their subjects.

Hindus are orphan in India as well as in overseas countries Why is it so?
Hindus are humilited in their own country and Hindus are suffered in Fiji,Malaysia,Tinidad,Sri Lanka,African countries and many other countries and have no support fron Government of India Why?
Because secularism is the guiding principal since 1947 under Nehru-Gandhi' s Congress and its foreign-minority rule in India for most of 62 years and at present being ruled by Euro-Italian women called Sonia Maino Antonio Gandhi where the P.M. and his cabinet has more respect for this dynasty[ nasty] than the people and constitution of India. They take oath for the severeignty and integrity of India but since 15.08.1947 the have lost sovereignty and integrity of India.
India's condition will be worse than Zimbabwe under the present UPA and its allince of opportunists.

NATO bombed SERBIA to liberate the MUSLIM enclave of Kosovo. Turkey invaded CYPRUS to liberate the Turks in the North. Britain went out to FALKLAND ISLANDS to make sure that the people of British origin living there were not harmed. But when it comes to "Broken" Bharat under Congress (ITALY & ISLAM), the NATIVES (Hindus) have NO voice, NO status, NO identity, NO future- both at home and ABROAD. Why is this so?

Tamils of INDIAN origin have been killed, crushed and destroyed without mercy in Sri Lanka while the subjugated Hindus in their land of origin, India, watched.

For one “BOFORS CHOR”, who hated the Hindus, a MILLION innocent Tamils had to perish. Is it not like 1947 when for Nehru’s chair as prime minister FIVE PROVINCES had to be surrendered and two million innocent Hindu/Sikh lives sacrificed on the altar of Mohammed?

On that day in 1991 a brave Tamil lady, reincarnation of Sri Rama's SPIRIT dispatched “Rascal” Rajiv, the reincarnation of Ravana's GHOST, to Hell.

Hindus in Hindusthan have NOT seen freedom or sovereignty for the last 1000 years.

What was supposed to be Independence in 1947 after centuries of savage and brutal treatment by Turks, Moguls and the British, condemned as “Kafirs” by Arab, Persian and Afghan MASTERS, not to speak of the Europeans, including the Portuguese, the French and the Dutch, besides the British, turned out to be PARTITION in which one third of India became Pakistan and reverted back to dark and savage Sharia Law. How are we to liberate the co-called Pakistanis from the agonising suffocating "Cage" of Koran? How? Their restless agonised soul is "on fire" because it really belongs to HINDUSTHAN and their deep spiritual roots are SANATAN DHARMA (HINDU) like their ancestors, for millennia.

Our cherished Secularism in Lahore was caught and killed outright. With the death of Lahore also went the memory cells in Hindu brain. There is not a single day designated to remember the time when Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi were in India. The very idea of mentioning "Akhand Bharat" to the RASHTRAPATNI Pratibha Devisingh Patil is like seeing a man eater TIGER in her dream.

In order to PERPETUATE his dynastic rule Nehru had to subjugate & impoverish the natives, intimidate and brainwash them, cripple their aspirations, kill their initiatives and keep them ignorant just as the British had done before. He needed strong allies. So he did the ultimate treachery by retaining the separatist seditious MUSLIMS back in his bleeding Partitioned India despite Partition!

Nehru refused to discuss or explain the terms and conditions of that historic & humiliating surrender. Nehru was an autocrat. He was a dictator. Territorial loss of India and the unprecedented scale of massacre of Hindus in 1947 amounted to the destruction of Germany under Hitler in 1945. In area Germany lost to Russia, Poland and Lithuania*** the equivalent of ONE Indian province whereas India was forced to surrender FIVE PROVINCES unconditionally to the ENEMY.

Dispute over Kashmir was of Nehru's own making. It was his idea of keeping the nation insecure, thus looking up to him & his Dynasty as their Saviour. It diverted the attention from the blood bath in Lahore to "saving Srinagar".

It was also his way of enriching himself with the wealth of the poor by taking bribes and commissions on big defence orders of expensive weaponry including fighter planes, tanks, cruisers, submarines and guns. A cunning and devious barrister!

The nation remained so impoverished that decades later Indira’s election slogan was, “Gareebi Hataao” (Eradicate Poverty!). This, while her own Dynasty & Party were continuously looting and plundering their dumb subjects, reducing them to grinding poverty through corruption, red tape and criminal neglect.

The DEVIL'S TRINITY- Nehru, Indira and Rajiv, sapped the entrepreneurial spirit, inflicted "license, quota and control" system of bureaucracy on their subjects and turned a blind eye to corruption all round. All rivals and challengers to their authority were promptly eliminated. All INITIATIVES died their natural death due to lack of encouragement and support. Only those projects got approval that were wholly or partly owned by foreigners or by Party supporters. One could not even admit to being a Hindu in Hindusthan.

Indira imposed Emergency and threw thousands of her opponents in jails. She started the training camps for Tamils to prepare them to fight against the Sri Lankan Government. That was meant to be an excuse later to send the Indian Army to kill them there. In the same way she contrived a trap for the simple Sikhs to launch her Operation “Blue Star” later.

Assassination of Indira provided her son Rajiv and Congress Party stalwarts the best excuse to massacre thousands of Sikhs all over India. No such massacre took place after Bapu Gandhi and Rajiv were killed. Does one need brains to comprehend as to why only the Sikhs and the Tamils were targeted so ruthlessly but not the Kashmiri separatists who have brutally forced the Hindus out of Valley?

Rajiv brought his wife from Italy in keeping with Nehru's contempt of native females. The elderly “sons & daughters of soil” did not see their own wives and daughters degraded by such “adoration of the foreigner”.

At last Divine Hand struck Rajiv and he got his due on May 21st. 1991 for meddling with the Tamils as his mother got her due at Halloween, 1984 for meddling with the Sikhs.

The impact of Rajiv’s assassination was profound. Dynasty's direct STRANGULATING HOLD on the Hindus snapped. Manmohan Singh took over as PM and however much of a poodle he might be of Sonia, he is not one of (Dirty) Dynasty. The Hindus should rejoice.

Manmohan Singh put India on road to individual and corporate freedoms. Hindu spirit of initiative and love of adventure met in him. A new breeze of liberalism started blowing across India. His submission before the “White Elephant” is only the reflection of the Hindus’ very own deep attachment to slavery.

One must now watch out for another growing menace in the shape of the new dynastic "dog" who is eagerly waiting to sit on the Prime Minister's chair and then celebrate his “Royal” wedding at tax payers’ expense to Veronica from Venezuela. What sort of a set back that would be for the subservient HINDUS, only time will tell.

Here is a SLAP in the face of HINDU pride and patriotism. Quote: Rajiv Gandhi could not find more beautiful lady than Sonia Maino in India . Like that Rahul Gandhi is also unable to find Indian girl more beautiful than the Spanish Girl. Unquote.

Let us hope that the momentum toward freedom given by Manmohan Singh will propel the nation forward and there will be Divine intervention to take care of Rahul just as it did in the case of earlier Gandhis (the so-called “Mahatma”, Indira and Rajiv).

21st May was the day in 1991 when fresh breeze started blowing across Hindusthan, replacing the putrid stink of bogus Gandhis’.

Celebrate May 21st as India's Liberation Day. Let us invite our Tamil brothers and sisters from Sri Lanka to join us.

Let us now swear NEVER TO LET ANOTHER GANDHI SIT IN PRIME MINISTER'S CHAIR AGAIN. Hindusthan must at last be liberated by the Hindus.

Does it not sound right? Does it not sound logical? Does it not sound decent? Does it not sound commonsense? Does it not sound honourable?

But who will convey this message to the one billion out there- waiting to throw flowers on Veronica from Venezuela and touch her feet?

By P Eng Suraj Singh- Election 2009-Secularism Versus Communalism- Secular Forces Versus BJP- What A Tyranny In Bharat India! Why Should Educated Hindus Vote? There Is No Political Recognition Of Hindus. Media Too Is Anti Hindu- All Hindus Are Sleeping

1 UPA is back to power with different faces. UPA used the previous allies & then threw them. The pro Congress people of Bharat overlooked all the serious issues relating to the nation & successfully voted back UPA to power. Just 37 % polled & Congress won the election. 70 x 30 % means 20 crores of votes. The 20 % comprised of more than 10 to 15 crores Muslim votes.

2 There was no issue of price rise, no issue of terrorism, no issue of corruption, no issue of law & order & no issue of any issue. The nation had been moving smoothly with Jai Ho. The Bharat India has risen to greater heights while the people of Bharat are extremely satisfied with the health of the nation Jai Ho. There are being no jobs for the educated people or the uneducated workers do not make any difference. There is no drinking water in hundreds of thousands of villages also makes no difference to the people. The black monies in foreign hands too does not make any difference either. The terrorism does not make any difference to the millions of people.

3 The crores of people living below poverty line do not make a difference as they shall continue to live with that level for decades to come. The crores of people have no shelter does not make a difference as the open sky is the shelter. They all love the trio Sonia, Rahul & Priyanka. They do not know who Man Mohan is all about? The educated persons are as usual conventionally useless for the national political scenario for they have no time to think for the future of the nation. They do not know that ours remained a slave society for thousands years & we should now not remember that either. The memories are too difficult to cope with. Why to remember bad times in life? Though they did not experience those slavery moments but shall definitely welcome re slavery era.

4 The saying that god helps those who help themselves does work but the god has also gone on vacation from the Bharat India view point. There appears to be invaded certain strong virus within the god’s IT network system. The god is not at all interested to clean the virus for there is no meaning as far as Bharat is relevant. Bharat people intend to just live like slum dogs in the mind slums. There is no need for the nation to be ruled by the good & dynamic leaders but just by one family as has been going on for decades. The politics is not the discipline of crores of population for the politics does not sound a good profession by the most respected esquire grandfather of corruption.

5 Why should Hindu community bother about the future? They have got too good experience of living in the age under Mughals & British slavery. They can again respond successfully if so required in incoming 15 to 20 years. Why should they mind? In the past also the Hindus failed to fight with the Mughals & had handed over the reigns to the Sikhs for the Hindus protection. This time also the protection has gone to a political Sikh under the patronage of an Italian guardian.

6 The nation shall need not worry about anything until the rules by the foreign powers in combination with the Muslims is well established in the name of Secularism the integrally defines the recognition for the welfare of Muslins & Christians in entirety with the bashing of Hindus. Bharat cannot be called great if the power is controlled by the Hindus but it brings a good environment of secularism in the Bharat lands when the Christians & the Muslims are involved with the ruling powers. The Hindus are well experienced to reside as slaves without any attention for care by the UPA.

7 The people intended to stay home on the voting day allowing Muslims & Christians vote en mass benefiting the Congress & their pre poll allies win the elections. BJP could not mobilize the voters to vote against the Congress corrupt government. Why should one go to election polling booth just for nothing when there are crores of people to vote on their behalf? It is no use to waste the resting time for voting. What shall voting do? My vote shall not make any difference. Let me sleep as I am too tired. Those who receive 5000 rupees for one vote are duty bound to go for polling & they did well for the UPA election.

8 Why do I write such blogs as there is no need at all? But yet my conscience does not allow by assuming that it was the heat waves that barred the voters from coming out of homes. The cars too did not work properly on that day. Many tried in the day but were then back after finding that the mercury was more than 40 degree celcius. No problem the vote shall be cast in another five years but on that day, the hotel for a visit to some sight seeing is already booked. Please do not argue I am OK with the title Pappu. After all it is a good title as Pappu does not share any responsibility. The others can manage in my absence when the nation gets slavery again.

9 It is better to be secular like Congress & UPA. Secularism gives good health & good food. Secularism treats all my illness. Secularism gives me peace & confessions. Secularism is my mother & my destiny. BJP & others are the enemies of Bharat as they have been awarded a decree of ‘communalism owners’ by the UPA. They are exclusive non secular & the nation shall die in case they or other non Congress parties rule the Bharat India. There should be no concern to the Hindus if Ram is degraded or his existence is questioned or he used to drink & never qualified engineering for constructing Ran Setu bridge. The only requirement is the persons like Ram Puniya who always talks against communal forces.

10 Why should we care for Bharat history of Ramayan & Mahabharat? Bharat should be remembered based on Mughals, British & Congress & UPA history exclusively. All others are imaginary states. Only Jesus & Al lah are the gods in secularism. Ram & Krishna were communal. Ram killed Ravan & Krishan was responsible for Mahabharat. Then why should we go for voting? It is completely a waste of time. Let us have pleasure by the secularism based nation.

11 It is better to apply Gandhi Giri in all affairs of life. If the nation has to be under Islamic rule, the people must be happy to extend their support & pay to the Talibans protection amount. All the Hindus shall be able to pay this tax to the probable Mughals of Bharat. They shall also support the Christian missionary government if that could be in the offing.

12 Are the Hindus so mind sick that cannot take their political care themselves? A Non Political Party Is The Need of The Day.
Jai Bharat Vandematram

Thousands beaten, raped in Irish reform schools
Associated Press
May 20, 2009

DUBLIN – A fiercely debated, nine-year investigation into Ireland's Roman Catholic-run institutions says priests and nuns terrorized thousands of boys and girls in workhouse-style schools for decades — and government inspectors failed to stop the chronic beatings, rapes and humiliation.

High Court Justice Sean Ryan on Wednesday unveiled the 2,600-page final report of Ireland's Commission to Inquire Into Child Abuse, which is based on testimony from thousands of former students and officials from more than 250 church-run institutions.

More than 30,000 children deemed to be petty thieves, truants or from dysfunctional families — a category that often included unmarried mothers — were sent to Ireland's austere network of industrial schools, reformatories, orphanages and hostels from the 1930s until the last church-run facilities shut in the 1990s.

The report found that molestation and rape were "endemic" in boys' facilities, chiefly run by the Christian Brothers order, and supervisors pursued policies that increased the danger. Girls supervised by orders of nuns, chiefly the Sisters of Mercy, suffered much less sexual abuse but frequent assaults and humiliation designed to make them feel worthless.

"In some schools a high level of ritualized beating was routine. ... Girls were struck with implements designed to maximize pain and were struck on all parts of the body," the report said. "Personal and family denigration was widespread."

Victims of the system have long demanded that the truth of their experiences be documented and made public, so that children in Ireland never endure such suffering again.
But most leaders of religious orders have rejected the allegations as exaggerations and lies, and testified to the commission that any abuses were the responsibility of often long-dead individuals.

Wednesday's five-volume report sides almost completely with the former students' accounts. It concludes that church officials always shielded their orders' pedophiles from arrest amid a culture of self-serving secrecy.

"A climate of fear, created by pervasive, excessive and arbitrary punishment, permeated most of the institutions and all those run for boys. Children lived with the daily terror of not knowing where the next beating was coming from," the report concluded.

The commission said overwhelming, consistent testimony from still-traumatized men and women, now in their 50s to 80s, had demonstrated beyond a doubt that the entire system treated children more like prison inmates and slaves than people with legal rights and human potential.

The report proposed 21 ways the government could recognize past wrongs, including building a permanent memorial, providing counseling and education to victims and improving Ireland's current child protection services.

But its findings will not be used for criminal prosecutions — in part because the Christian Brothers successfully sued the commission in 2004 to keep the identities of all of its members, dead or alive, unnamed in the report. No real names, whether of victims or perpetrators, appear in the final document.

Irish church leaders and religious orders all declined to comment Wednesday, citing the need to read the massive document first. The Vatican also declined to comment.

The Irish government already has funded a parallel compensation system that has paid 12,000 abuse victims an average of euro65,000 ($90,000). About 2,000 claims remain outstanding.
Victims receive the payouts only if they waive their rights to sue the state and the church. Hundreds have rejected that condition and taken their abusers and those church employers to court.

Wednesday's report said children had no safe way to tell authorities about the assaults they were suffering, particularly the sexual aggression from church officials and older inmates in boys' institutions.

"The management did not listen to or believe children when they complained of the activities of some of the men who had responsibility for their care," the commission found. "At best, the abusers were moved, but nothing was done about the harm done to the child. At worst, the child was blamed and seen as corrupted by the sexual activity, and was punished severely."

The commission dismissed as implausible a central defense of the religious orders — that, in bygone days, people did not recognize the sexual abuse of a child as a criminal offense, but rather as a sin that required repentance.
In their testimony, religious orders typically cited this opinion as the principal reason why sex-predator priests and brothers were sheltered within the system and moved to new posts where they could still maintain daily contact with children.

But the commission said its fact-finding — which included unearthing decades-old church files, chiefly stored in the Vatican, on scores of unreported abuse cases from Ireland's industrial schools — demonstrated that officials understood exactly what was at stake: their own reputations.

It cited numerous examples where school managers told police about child abusers who were not church officials — but never did this when one of their own had committed the crime.

"Contrary to the congregations' claims that the recidivist nature of sexual offending was not understood, it is clear from the documented cases that they were aware of the propensity for abusers to re-abuse," it said.

Religious orders were chiefly concerned about preventing scandal, not the danger to children, it said.

The commission also condemned Ireland's Education Department for aiding the abusive culture through infrequent, toothless inspections that deferred to church authority.

Inspectors were supposed to restrict the use of corporal punishment and make sure the children were adequately fed, clothed and educated — but the report called those inspections "fundamentally flawed."
It said a lone inspector was responsible for monitoring more than 50 industrial schools, schools were told about the visits in advance and inspectors rarely talked to the children.
Wednesday's report also highlighted the rarity of human kindness in the institutions.
"A word of consideration or encouragement, or an act of sympathy or understanding, had a profound effect. Adults in their 60s and 70s recalled seemingly insignificant events that had remained with them all their lives," the report said.
"Often the act of kindness, recalled in such a positive light, arose from the simple fact that the staff member had not given a beating when one was expected."

Benefits of Congress winning more seats in Elections!
May 17, 2009

Vaishakh Krushna Ashtami

The benefits of Congress winning more seats than BJP in the Loksabha elections!

His Holiness Dr. Jayant Athavale
A. ‘ Had BJP won more seats than Congress the Hindus would have lived on false hope. They would have left the efforts for the defence of Nation and Dharma. Thus the defeat of BJP would make the Hindus to continue with their efforts.( BJP however will not realise that ‘ we lost because we left Hinduism’.)

B. The benefits of Congress winning more seats are as follows

B1. The thought that ‘whatever we do the people elect us only’ will become firmly embedded in the minds of Congress people which will make their state like the arrogant demons. This will prompt them to do many anti- National and anti- Dharma actions and they will torture the Nation and Dharma loving people more and more. This will further create anger in the minds of Nation and Dharma loving people and which will lead to increase in their number till 2012 and they will become strong enough to work towards the establishment of Hindu nation replacing the democracy which has taken nation to a very low level.

B2. When a ball is thrown up above it comes down and down , hits the ground and then bounces up again. Similarly in the reign of Congress the state of Nation and Dharma will rapidly deteriorate and after 2012 it will be on the way to improvement. After 2018 the dream of Nation and Dharma loving people will be realised and there will be establishment of Divine Kingdom that is Hindu Nation. ( In the mean time there will be Third World War leading to decrease in the population of world as well as that of Bharat by 30%)’

- His Holiness Dr. Jayant Athavale , Founder, Sanatan Sanstha ( Vaishakh Krushna 7, Kaliyug Year 5111( 16th May 2009) )

The victory of Congress in the elections is going to take Hindus towards Righteous evolution!

A. Since the Congress rule is full of demonic tyranny its leaders will not be able to revive democracy

In a destructive period the demons become arrogant and put in powerful efforts to take Nation and Dharma downhill. The current situation is exactly same. . Since the Congress rule is full of demonic tyranny its leaders will never be able to revive democracy

B. The present condition of Congress is according to the saying ‘ Intellect deteriorates before destruction’

1.As per the saying ‘Intellect deteriorates before destruction’ the intellect of evil-doers become corrupt as a result of sharp increase in tama component.
2. The corrupt intellect causes mind to indulge in enjoyment and dalliance.
3. The indulging attitude leads to exacerbation of such demonic actions as rape, dalliance, sensual enjoyment, gathering of wealth, liquor parties, lewd dances etc and the fountains of tama components are spread all over the atmosphere.
4. The spread of such fountains in the atmosphere badly disturbs the life of good people, seekers, devotees, saints , temples and various sects.
5. A common man (Jiva) is affected little late by such actions; because since such Jivas do not perform any sadhana the demons use all their might to fight against the saints; but once the demons start their wanton play even the common man feels the brunt. Since these people possess no spiritual strength they are easily crushed like insects during this battle.
6. Even if devotees die during this battle they enter the superior cosmic region of Mahalok after death.

C . Some examples to show that the vessels of sin committed by Congress are reaching the brim and proportion of the sin

1. Currently the sin committed by Congress has reached 50%.
2. The victory in this election will lead to aggravation of sinful activities by Congress and the percentage of sin will reach 60% by year 2010.
3. When its severity reaches beyond 70% in unfavourable period , the manifest incarnate mission of God becomes active in the atmosphere to check the balance of the creation. During such period many of the evil-doers who have killed innocent jivas are destroyed by seekers.
4. During the destructive period if the death is due to sinful actions then one has to endure hell. The mantriks from sixth and seventh hell also enter into fray through subtle which transforms revolution into a world war. Currently the similar signs are visible.

D. The victory of congress is vey important for evolution of Hindus and the stages in this process of evolution

1. The victory of congress is vey important for evolution of Hindus.
2. The Hindus who are inactive will have to retaliate for survival when they will be jolted to find that the death is staring in their eyes in the form of Congress.
3. Thus the Hindu people will be spontaneously drawn into battle and will attack the most dangerous demonic evil-doers in the form fo Congress.
4. The Apatkal ( unfavourable period ) is a Sandhikal ( the junction of two time periods) and hence there is lot of help from God. When the Dharma is eclipsed through the medium of demons in the form of Congress, then the power consisting of chaitanya which is inherent in Dharma does not remain silent but compels the Dharmabhimani Hindus to take up their sharp swords of Kshatratej and Brhamatej. Thus a cyclone is precipitated and the wild fire does not get cooled down unless the reinstatement of Dharma with the help of Dharmakranti( righteous revolution). The Congress people are soon going to have such experience.

E. The present state of Congress

E1. Though the Congress is currently on the path to its destruction ,its members have become blind due to activities predominant in Tama component. Thus their present state is such that they do not see their future at all.
E2. H.H. Dr Athavale’s prophetic expressions about Congress: It is undoubtedly true that arrogant Congress is leading to its doom; that is why H.H.Dr. Athavale has commented that if the rule of Congress is returned on Bharat , it will benefit Bharat byway of revitalisation of Dharma. The arrogant Congress people should remember that this expression of Saint will never become false.

[aryayouthgroup] Hindus are their own worst enemies!

Deepak Ganju Sat, May 16, 2009 at 1:02 PM

The recent poll results are not a surprise but what could you expect when Hindu vote is divided and split against a consolidated Muslim and Christian vote bank? Don't get surprised or shocked as perhaps a Hindu will still not awaken from centuries old deep slumber, and a psyche of being ruled by foreigners be it Muslim Invaders, Christian missionaries or now by their qualified puppets.

They are used to getting beaten and killed in their own country while walking in a street, shopping at a market or staying in a hotel, finding their brothers, sisters and mothers living in refugee camps, denied jobs for being born in a brahmin, business or a warrior Hindu family, taxed instead of subsidized and in some cases even denied pilgrimage. And still we Hindus not only vote but reward and bring back an inapt, weak and corrupt party of puppets and appeasers responsible for all these evils.

The question we should ask is how open and blatant anti Hindu governments in Center and States have been formed for such a long time continuously in so called democratic India and why? The reason for anti Hindu regimes to succeed is an illusion of good governance created by an extremely biased Indian media funded by Christian Ministries, Gospels, Communists, Gulf money and corrupt politicians *(see below). The centuries old enemies of India, Muslims and Christian Missionaries, are now within reach of their nefarious dream of destroying India.

When will we Hindus wake up before it is too late?
Deepak Ganju

A very popular TV news media is funded by Gospels of Charity in Spain Supports Communism. Recently it has developed a soft corner towards Pakistan because Pakistan President has allowed only this channel to be aired in Pakistan. Indian CEO Prannoy Roy is co-brother of Prakash Karat, General Secretary of the Communist party of India .His wife and Brinda Karat are sisters.

India Today**:
Which used to be the only national weekly which supported BJP is now bought by NDTV!! Since then the tone has changed drastically and turned into Hindu bashing.

This is 100 percent funded by Southern Baptist Church with its branches in all over the world with HQ in US.. The Church annually allocates $800 million for promotion of its channel. Its Indian head is Rajdeep Sardesai and his wife Sagarika Ghosh.

Times group list:*
Times Of India, Mid-Day, Nav-Bharth Times, Femina, Filmfare, Vijaya Karnataka, Times now (24- hour news channel) and many more...

Times Group is owned by Bennett & Coleman. 'World Christian Council does 80 percent of the Funding, and an Englishman and an Italian equally share balance 20 percent. The Italian Robertio Mindo is a closerelative of Sonia Gandhi.

Star TV:*
It is run by an Australian, who is supported by St. Peters Pontifical Church Melbourne.

Hindustan Times:*
Owned by Birla Group, but hands have changed since Shobana Bhartiya took over. Presently it is working in Collaboration with Times Group.

The Hindu:*
English daily, started over 125 years has been recently taken over by Joshua Society, Berne , Switzerland.. N. Ram's wife is a Swiss national.

Indian Express:*
Divided into two groups. The Indian Express and the New Indian Express (southern edition) ACTS Christian Ministries have major stake in the Indian Express and latter is still with the Indian counterpart.

The Statesman:*
It is controlled by Communist Party of India.

Asian Age and Deccan Chronicle:*
Is owned by a Saudi Arabian Company with its chief Editor M.J. Akbar.

Gujarat riots which took place in 2002 where Hindus were burnt alive,

Rajdeep Sardesai and Bharkha Dutt working for NDTV at that time got around 5 Million Dollars from Saudi Arabia to cover only Muslim victims, which they did very faithfully... Not a single Hindu family was interviewed or shown on TV whose near and dear ones had been burnt alive, it is reported.

Tarun Tejpal of
Tehelka.com_ regularly gets blank cheques from Arab countries to target BJP and Hindus only, it is said. The ownership explains the control of media in India by foreigners. The result is obvious.

It is unfortunate but true that in this country only 50% people vote and out of those who vote 60% are illiterate.A good part of them vote for caste factor and for Wine and currency note gifts.
Indian democracy is fraud.Opposition parties like BJP instead taking secular shape focus only on one relgion thus giving upper hand to small fraudlent parties.People really have no alternative to vote.

In last 5 years of serious neglect and mismanagement Manmohan Government has caused havoc on commodity prices, property prices, corruption and law and order.Man Mohan government went on unchecked taxation after taxation and charging citizens for everything in name of PPP.
The stock markets boomed and collapsed resulting in lacs of crores going out of country. Nothing was done to reduce corruption and plug exit of black money being looted from people regularly.
There has been no evidence of reforms of judiciary and its expansion despite a paltry sum of Rs 800 crores required each year. This money can be easily recovered from crminlas by increased penalties which are 60 years old.
Despite failure after failure and tough time being faced by homeless and food less citizens, congress has managed large seats.

In any case, now is time for Man Mohan and his associates to review their failures and list concrete programs to reverse price rise and property rise and to bring in lasting and deep reforms in economy including judicial system.

We would like to form a policy paper and performance appraisal points for Man Mohan Singh to closely monitor congress led government performance and confront them from time to time. There is no alternative but for opposition parties like BJP to make a shadow cabinet and people's organization to monitor babudom and politicians on failure to achieve people friendly metrics.

We would like to set targets for Man Mohan Government in each important area and also send guidelines to them as to how to do it and circulate this on forums and in press too.

That seems to be a logical and best possible way to assist government and confront them on failures in true form of democracy system.

Members may please start discussion thread on this and evolve points with concrete yardsticks to be compiled and send it to all political parties in parliament to deliver results. All polticial parties in fact participate in running government through floor discussions and voting.

Let us start building this policy and program implementation guideline.

Prof R K Gupta

When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country.

But, it too, seemed immovable.

As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it.

And now as I lie on my deathbed, I suddenly realize: If I had only changed my self first, then by example I would have changed my family.

From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.

A Determined Spirit
Once upon a time, a small bird named Tasoo lived in a vast jungle. One hot summer day, a terrible wildfire erupted and the flames devoured many trees and animals living in the jungle. Other birds flew high into the sky and far away to safety, but Tasoo couldn't bear to leave her precious jungle home to burn. Day and night, she flew with all her might back and forth to the river, filling her tiny beak with water to drop on the raging fires. Tasoo's rare heart of courage and unshakable determination moved the heavenly gods to shed tears, and a great rain poured down upon the jungle, extinguishing the flames. And so it is that even the smallest actions of a determined spirit can change the world.

See the election results. People cant be fooled anymore. Our people have started thinking and voting intelligently/ Gone are the days where the RSS and BJP can play cards like building temple for ram. people are not interested in these gimmicks anymore. We now have a Neutral and stable government in the center. Wonderful choice. All the christians in India and abroad prayed for this. Our Living God has answered the prayers. ONly 3 % of indians are christians and see and think how Congress came to power.
Stop bowiing your head to stones and trees. they cant give you anything.

Should a political ruler be allowed to be wicked to an extent that he/she may be allowed to disturb heritage character of a public place? During my recent visit to Lucknow, I was shocked and surprised to find that grand stone-built building of UP state-assembly was now being covered with white paint destroying beauty of natural stone colour.

What more, huge spend of public funds at projects like Parivartan Chowk and Ambedkar Park remind of mughal-era when Aurangzeb had to put his own father Shahjahan under house-arrest to prevent royal treasure from being emptied in building-projects. Interestingly UP government has also followed Nawab Asaf-ud-daulah who ordered to build Bara Imambara in Lucknow in day-time, and its breaking in night to give employment to drought-affected people at that time. Here UP Chief Minister ordered breaking of the expansive structure and statues to be built again because earlier design etc could not match her expectations!

UP has another tradition that public-projects built at huge cost in regime of political rivals are not maintained. Lohia-path developed by SP government in regime of Mulayam Singh Yadav is such an example where even the side-lights to bifurcate two-wheelers and four-wheelers are found nowhere now. There is no end to putting costly statues of her favourites by Chief Minister Mayawati even including of herself. Even other states like Haryana and Tamilnadu have similar examples of statues put by political rulers for their respective mentors. There should be a rule that decision to put statues and naming of projects may be taken by consensus of Chief Minister and Opposition Leader.
